Customers say
Customers find the filter pad works well and produces crystal clear water, with good quality and ease of use. The thickness receives mixed feedback – while some describe it as thick fluffy floss, others note it’s not as thick as advertised. Additionally, the pad is very flat and has crease relief issues, though one customer mentions it’s easy to cut and shape.

Great value! *Expands in dryer*
Great value for a filter. I’m using it for my airbrush booth so cutting in half gives me 2 filters for the price of one! It’s a couple inches short front to back but still covers the vent grated so it should work out ok for protecting the fan. These do come vaccume sealed which means it will be very flat and thin when you open it. Took the advice of another review and popped it in the dryer for a few min. Fluffed it right up. There are still creases but perhaps if I left it in longer it would help.

Not 1.2 thick not good product
The filter media does strain out very fine particles and itâs pretty durable. Itâs just not the thickness thatâs advertised. Itâs about a half an inch.

Filter media was packaged folded instead of rolled, which left creases that made both accurate measuring and cutting difficult. The product should be packed and shipped as a rolled good. Length and Width are fine, filter thickness is greatly exaggerated, accurately measuring in at about 3/8 inch, and no where near 1.2 inches thick. Not at all dense filter material, very loose weave. Filter did not have crease relief or expand when soaked before installing in the filter housing.

Flat Filter Media
I ordered this more for a craft project and figured that I would use the remaining for my fish filter when I was done. When I received it was packaged in a vacuum sealed bag and very flat.I removed from the bag, and it stayed flat.Frustrated because I really needed this to finish the project I got it wet and tossed it in the dryer on an air setting. After doing this twice, I did manage to get most of it to fluff back up to the 1″ thickness, but there were still some flat spots.Other filter media that I have ordered in the past comes in a roll and is equally fluffy. Not sure if the other flat spots will fluff out when wet, or how well it will filter if flat in my tank filter.

Great For Cherry Shrimp Tank
I have a fish tank containing cherry shrimps. But the water filter has a big hole at the bottom of the intake area. So I cut a portion of this foam pad and wrap the bottom to prevent my shrimps from getting sucked in. It’s been ~10 weeks since I first started using this product (and changed/replaced the pad 3x). My shrimps like to stick to this pad as a hangout spot. Even the babies born 2 weeks ago got into the act and choose the pad as their favorite hangout place.
