I love this! Makes sure my plants get enough light to thrive. Easy to put together. The timer function is a plus! You can set it to turn on and off at 12-6-4 hour intervals. I love it!

Attractive and servicible, but you can only use low light plants
Ordered this light/stand combo for its use for my planted globe tank, because it looks like the perfect design and style for my purposes.The timer function on the light works well and I only wish there were more options other than 4, 8, or 12 hours, and an option for two short lighting periods in a day rather than just one long one. Oh well, it is convenient overall.My one nitpick is that this isn’t the brightest light for the purpoayse of growing aquarium plants, unless you plant only the extremely low-light tolerant types. I have some anubias, java fern, java moss, and sagittaria grass in there. But even at its highest, 100% light setting, my plants don’t appear to be thriving. They’re just hanging on, and the ludwigia, cryptocoryne, and rotalas died off in less than one week. Bummer, as we used to say in the ’80s.If there was some kind of ramping up/down for sunrise/sunset periods, I have yet to find it..the instructions were pretty simplistic and didn’t mention that. Admittedly, I purchased this partly because the wording in the product description seemed to indicate a day/night cycle, but I was mistaken in what that meant.

**Update remodeled! Using just the light fixture drilled into the cabinet and placed light fixture on cabinet added a washer. Much better. This is about 7 gallon bowl that is 12.5 X 17 on a leveling mat. It barely fit on the bamboo board it came with made me nervous. The neck of the light is adjustable. I purchased a separate auto on/off for this light works great.This is good for green plants. My red and purple plants are only growing green now, unless you run a Co2 system. Timer only runs for 3 pre set amount of time. There is a dimmer button low, medium and high I mainly keep mine on low or medium its bright. Itâs nice if you want something aesthetically pleasing.

Bolt don’t tighten for light
You can’t tight the bolt to tight or the wood will crack. Very disappointing. Other then that it looks nice. Just wish the wood was better material for the price

Great product. The wood will lighten or split if wet so I recommend getting a small lazy Susan or cover if you are using a fish bowl or nano tank.
