Fire hazard
I don’t normally do reviews, but this item nearly burned down my house. I’ve kept aquariums for 30+ years, I know how to protect equipment from water. This failed at the control box and created a 6″ arc flash. This product should not be sold at all. The only reason I bought a cheap product like this is that I made changes to my filtration and it caused a bacteria bloom. I needed something fast and almost paid much bigger price. Never again.

I absolutely love this filter/air bubbler.It works great and my fish seem to love it as well. Only thing I have a problem with is that the washer in between the connection has snapped, now the air flow is not as strong as it use to be. My tank has all live plants and I have to clean the filter once a week. I have a delima do I buy a new one, or can I find the washer? I did post a photo of the washer and video showing air flow, but I don’t see it.

Love that it clears the water fast! Especially when we had live plants.But …I can’t seem to get the filter cover off! I’ve squeezed and pulled from both sides and it just won’t budge.Does the unit have to be completely dry to get the cover to move?If I could easily remove the cover, I would give full stars.Oh and don’t use with live plants either. They tend to gunk it up so it needs cleaning DAILY. Now that we’ve removed the live plants, it goes longer, tho I’ve not noted how long.Make it come apart easier but still stay together under water (a clip, maybe?) and I’d totally love it. I know.my turtle appreciates clear water in her tank.

This item works extremely well. Our fish tank had a severe algae problem. After only a couple of days with this sterilizer, the tank started showing vast improvements. After 7 to 10 days the tank was extremely clear and looks like there was never an issue at all. It is highly recommended!

I was little skeptical because there were some negative reviews, but the good ones outweighed the bad so I went for it. The instructions for set up weren’t the greatest, but I figured it out pretty quickly. You have to take out the yellow filter if you want to have full use of the UV light if you are having trouble with green murky water. Also I do have another filter going as well, this filter can not take full care of the tank by itself. I forgot to get my day one photo, it was WAY more green, you couldn’t even see the filters in the back, and my fish would literally disappear. So first photo is actually day 2 of using the UV filter. The second photo is on day 4!! Can I just say WOW I wasn’t expecting that much change when I woke up this morning!!! I did run it on the 24hr setting these past 4 days. Now that it is getting clearer I will probably bump the UV use down to 12 or 6 hrs out of the day once I hit the one week marker. Very happy with this product I hope it keeps functioning just as great as time goes on. My fish are super happy! I deffinetly recommend this product!

The size is a bit cumbersome for a small aquarium. It works great. The filter works continuously, and the UV lamp is controllecby a timer (off, 3, 6, 12 or 24 hours), a small light can be seen in the darh when the UV lamp is switched On. I remove to included sponge as I use it only for the UV lamp. My marine aquarium water is now really clear.
