Aqueon Shrimp Essentials replaces important trace minerals that are vital to invertebrates and are removed through chemical filtration as well as used by individual shrimp in the aquarium. Shrimp and freshwater crayfish have exoskeletons that require additional nutrients for biological processes like molting and osmoregulation. These nutrients help the crustaceans cast off their old exoskeleton and harden the new one. Use when preparing tap water for new aquariums, performing water changes or when adding water due to evaporation. It is helpful to remove chemical filtration, such as carbon or other resins, for a brief time when adding to prevent absorption and help optimize available nutrients..

Customers say
Customers report that the water treatment helps shrimp molt and become more active in their tanks. The product functions well and offers good value for money. However, several customers note issues with the bottle leaking and coming without a cap. Additionally, mortality rates show mixed results, with some customers reporting positive outcomes while others experienced negative ones.

Helps shrimp be happy
These minerals help shrimp molt. If they can’t molt they get the white rings of death and won’t survive. This small size is good for 5 gal tank for about two months of water changes for water quality and health.

Shrimps best friend!
Exactly what my shrimpies needed! I actually got this after adding the cherries to my first tank and they perked up immediately. They’ve had more successful molts and I like to think this is the reason. Will purchase again!

Shrimp are happy
I live in an area with really soft tap water, so all my shrimp would usually die after their first molt. However, after finding this, my shrimp are flourishing.I find that this bottle gets used up really quick, I wish it was more concentrated. 5mL per gallon gives you about 23 gallons of use. For me, that’s about 5 water changes, which is a month for a small tank. At least it’s fairly cheap.

Small size, will go fast but the artificial color is what lost a star.
Easy to use, makes RO water recharged for living the shrimp life properly. The cost is pretty low so the fact that it goes fast isnât a huge deal but the ingredients have âartificialâ color added. This is offputting and something I would have passed on had I know this prior. There is a pink color added to the mix for some reason and Iâm pretty sure my shrimps would prefer to not have that. That coupled with how much you need to use and how small the bottles are is an unnecessary waste and monetary upkeep. These things made me take off a star. It is convenient if your in a pinch cause local pet shop may have it on the shelf. That said, Iâll use this up but when itâs finished i have already bought the âsaltyshrimp gh+/kh+â for future water changes and long term remineralization solutions.

Canât live without this
Canât live without this
Would buy again –
$5 bottle only big enough to dose a 20 gallon tank
Would NOT buy again. $5 every water change? Thatâs $20 a month if you water change once a week. The bottle, 4 oz, only gives a 20 gallon tank ONE DOSE. Wild

Didn’t get ever thing I should have
The two bottles came. One was leaking, and one was missing the measuring cap.

I need a little extra than dosing suggestion
HOWEVER… my shrimp have been much more active, I have had one death since starting this product 6 months ago. It’s so much easier to use (for me) than the powder… especially if you’re in a hurry to add water or even worse, do a change… I tried the powder and was having constant deaths, failed molts… My ONLY complaint is that after checking the GH and KH, it was low using the company’s suggested amounts. I use twice as much when I do a water change… but… face it… that’s REALLY not that often! I mostly do top offs and you don’t need to add it then. And the salty container? I use it to prop up the handle on my skillet because my stove is slightly off kilter. I’ll never go back. One person mentioned artificial color. I’m not a fan of it, but it doesn’t seem to be hurting my shrimp any. I went from 6 adult shrimp to over 20 at or almost-at breeding age and probably another 15 juveniles or babies in there… all because they’re breeding. THey eat well… I’m well pleased.

This product is only enough to dose a single 20G tank once. I do not reccomend it as no one has molted since the addition. Try saltyshrimp+ or just tap water honestly this is so diluted itâs rubbish

The bottle came side ways, seal was open and cap wasn’t put on properly. The seller said it was checked and couldn’t possibly be open but the liquid inside leaked everywhere and even the receipt got wet. Please don’t buy this product.
