Good Quality
This is great quality. Clean, not dusty, holds moisture and smell fresh. The only problem was it was too sharp and pokey for my 5.5 foot long adult corns snake. So I tried the microchip coco substrate and that was perfect. I will be buying more microchip.

The best substrate for humidity & ball pythons
(3ft pvc enclosure for reference$ The best coco husk substrate Iâve found, It holds moisture well for humidity purposes and my ball python likes it. It also looks nice. I like the size of these âchipsâ compared to other coco husk substrates that are larger chunks. I feel like this is good for my animal. I do freeze all of my substrate for a day whether itâs overnight or in the morning and then change my substrate at night. This prevents mites that can harm your reptiles.

Looks small but it worked great!
I was worried at first, that I had possibly wasted my money. The bag that came was very small and it wasn’t hard compacted so I was confused on the claim that it expands up to 12 quarts. I gave it a go anyway. In the pictures you can see it was perfectly enough for my 40 gal breeder (Ball Python who is 20 years old lives here!). I did not put any under the soak/water bowl so that helped fill her living space. Also: I didn’t find any random sharp items in the bedding (in reference to other reviews). After placing it in, I wet it a little for humidity, but it didn’t seem to expand it much more at all. After I put all the decor back in, the tank was awesome looking. It’s a little bit pricey and you’ll probably need an extra bag for spot cleaning (I did a full bedding replacement) but overall I’m happy!

Perfect for tortoise
It doesnât get moldy or mushy if his water spills on it. The temperature stays perfect. He doesnât try to eat it. It doesnât smell. Good stuff!

40 gallon tanks..
One bag is not enough for a 40 gallon. Not a bad product overall so either buy two bags or stick with reptibark, which is likely more price efficient.

Boa approved
Boa and kingsnake approved actually. The benefit is that you can adjust the humidity needed by how much you spray it. Plus it spot cleans nicely. It also passes floor heat up to the snake better than just about any other particulate substrate.HINT: Get a screen top for a glass tank and use it to screen the chips before using. Removes nearly all dust.

Best chips we found for smell
We use is our tortoise bed. Keeps the smell down and they last long.

This is the one Iâm sticking with
I have been looking for substrate that didnât have all the dust and sharper pieces some of the others do and took a chance on this one. Itâs a bit pricier but it really does provide way more coverage that it looks like it will based on the size of the bag. I really love this stuff for my ball pythons enclosure. Itâs super light, holds humidity really well and looks so much nicer.

Okay Product, but way to SMALL for the PRICE! It is only about 1/3 the size I was expecting. Very Disappointed

I bought the 12 quart pack and it was so unbelievably small I imidiatly returned it this item costs £60 and it is barely bigger than my head. I have bought much larger packs before for half the price, so there is no excuse for this substrate to be so bloody expensive and small. Not worth the money at all!
