Must have
These skewers are good quality and a small game changer for our parrot. He loves getting is fruit and veggies from them and instead of a mix of foods in his bowl he gets to forage around the cage and find his treats. He’s a big fan.

My Parrot Loves This Item
My parrot loves this item because I can “string” some of her veggies that she loves on the threader and then hang it anywhere in her cage. She doesn’t stay in her large cage during the day. She goes in for a snack on her threader and then comes back out to play. I typically place the threader on her cage so that the hanger is right in front of a perch. She can sit on her perch comfortably and eat to her heart’s content. I put apple slices or other fruit and veggies such as mini bell peppers on the threader and she just snacks her way down the threader. We both love it!

Safe option for homemade toys
I make toys for my birds by skewering corn cobs, paper cups, wicker balls, etc, with these skewers. My birds love it, it’s very easy to use and clean, cheaper than premade toys, and the stainless steel skewers are nontoxic and safer than many of the premade toys (birds can get their beaks caught in the gaps in the metal loops on the end of many toys, but that is not the case with these – no gap, and the metal isn’t flexible so they can’t pry or bend it into hazardous shapes). Size is as described. If you’re looking for a safer and cheaper way to provide entertainment and enrichment to your bird, I highly recommend making your own toys with these.

Too flimsy
I keep thinking the people who make products for parrots haven’t ever seen one, or understand beaks. The clip that attaches to the cage is destroyed in minutes. Luckily, I can easily replace it. The skewer bit seems to be touching up well. It’s still disappointing that the manufacturers of these things don’t understand parrots.

Ingenious!
When I saw these fruit hangers, I thought to myself how come nobody else figured this out. What a simple basic design. All the other companies that use screws on the bottom, and this company just made a loop in the bottom of the rod. So smart and easy to use. Easy to clean, and easy and fast to replace old food with fresh food. Sometimes basic and simple is the best!

LOVE IT!
It’s been almost a year and we still use these all the time. Our Amazon parrot loves trying to get various fruits off of the bars. As humans, we shouldn’t play with our food but as birds, this is very important to keep scavenger skills sharp.

Best Thing To Give Your Birds!
These skewers are fantastic providing hours of fun throughout the day for my 2 Budgies! They wait every morning for the veggie of the day to be hung on the rod! They LOVE nibbling brocolli, cauliflower etc. as the stick swings! The share it together. I also use one to hang toys to forage like Sola balls or sticks.

The metal is good but the handle does not go inside the hole. You cant put the handle.
