Customers say
Customers find the foraging wheel works well for various animals and provides good mental stimulation for birds. However, the durability receives negative feedback, with multiple customers reporting that it breaks easily. Moreover, the size is problematic as it’s too big for small birds, and customers find it difficult to refill. While some customers say it’s easy to set up, others find it cumbersome to use, and opinions on value for money are mixed, with some finding it okay for the price while others consider it not worth the cost. Additionally, customers disagree on whether it’s suitable for birds.

Rats love it!!
My rat boys love this product! At first they were hesitant to put their little hands in the holes but now they use it like pros! The only problem I have is that itâs not super easy to put together the screw that holds the clear front panel on is not very long and barely reaches out the other side, let alone when the bead is in place. It makes it very difficult to securely tighten it and it also has started to break the small plastic lip on the back a little. Honestly if that little plastic lip wasnât there this whole problem would likely go away Iâm not sure what itâs purpose is.Other than that miner flaw it is still perfectly useable and I love having the extra enrichment for my boys! It fits really nicely in the bars of my critter nation cage as well!

bought for indian ringneck
not sure how long until my girl destroys it lol, but so far she is intrigued. itâs not the most sturdy, but itâs only like 10 bucks soâ¦. i bought the clear one, and donât be scared by the reviews that itâs not clearâ¦IT IS. thereâs a protective film, mine was annoyingly on the inside of the toy but itâs easy to take apart and reassemble (just a screw and bolt) which makes it easy to clean as well

Works well for other critters too!
We got two of these for each of our rat habitats and they love them!! Setup is simple, doesnât take up too much space, and surely seems sturdy. Our boys love them, so we do too!

i do NOT think this is safe for my GCC
Got this as a foraging toy for my green cheek conure. A few things posed an issue and I will unfortunately be returning:1. (most important!) the holes are JUST too small for his head, meaning he tries to shove his head in the holes to retrieve the treats, smushing his eyes and posing a risk of getting stuck. NOT a risk i am willing to take at all. if you have a bird gcc-sized or smaller, do NOT get this version. (NOT THE SELLER’S FAULT! just needs to be made clear the dangers and how important it is to get appropriately-sized toys for your animals!)2. I got the clear version and it confused him. Kept him busy, which is great, but also frustrated him and he got angry and bitey because of it. He tried to reach the seeds from everywhere but the holes and just got lucky when he happened across a hole.3. The front bit with the holes has a weird balance issue. The two pockets at the 3 and 9 oclock positions (the ones touching the brackets) were the ones i filled for a test and when setting the holes to either of those spots, the front bit spun, as if the weight was distributed unevenly on the acrylic front with the holes…which makes no sense, since it’s a singular sheet of plastic and not the part filled with seeds, if that makes sense. Basically, the holes moved on their own in some positions and it was very frustrating and dangerous for my little guy.4. Most of these types of foraging toys come with a little knob to turn the face of it. I assumed this would have one (hard to see on the picture if there is or isn’t), but it doesn’t, making it hard for my bird to turn it.5. It would be really frustrating to attach this to the cage AND unattach it to fill it back up, clean it, etc.Overall, my major concern is the safety of my baby and this does not seem safe enough for him. The thing is sturdy as far as I can tell and looks nice after taking the protective plastic off the front, but the issues just outweigh that. I will get another doohickey like this that has more appropriate holes for my conure.

Better than it looks
A great product but very poorly advertised. You never fill it with food, you put just a little bit in each section and then fill the rest with torn paper or cut cardboard pieces, which keep the food inside (otherwise it will just fall out when you hang the thing) and provide your birdy entertainment to shred :)On the downside the central “flower” plastic washer piece is no good, my parrot just chewed it off after a couple of weeks. Just any metal washer will suffice as a replacement, I just used one out of the spare part sets of one of my furniture pieces (or whoever knows where from exactly…).As a potential improvement, having the central screw longer so it can also serve as a single mounting point (and foregoing 2 current mounting screws) would probably be way, way more convenient to use by having less parts to fiddle with and be a cost saving for the manufacturer as a side bonus.

Not usable due to attachment
Ive bought these forraging tools for my African Grey…they are generally pricey but well made with attachment thru the middle via a large screw..But this one has two tiny extention tabs of clear plastic with a tiny hole for tiny screws that are only sbout 1/4″ long!!! Being made ridiculously foolishly one cant put a longer screw in esch hole..yet itd too awkward to use as such..and Gawyn had the screws out in literally 3 seconds..he was banging the thing around like crazy. The original foraging wheel lets the bird turn it around as it’s attached to the side of the housing or the cage bars, can be found here on Amazon make sure that you get the one with the screw that goes in the middle..screws are about two inches long which means that the toy itself is about two inches deep and that’s fine because you can put nuts in it the holes are large enough Etc I don’t know who makes the original but I would not buy this for a bird. I wouldn’t buy this for anything. It’s a shame because the concept is a great one I just wish they would change their design. It’s a total waste of materials and money in a disappointment to the bird obviously.

Birdy Fun
Great foraging toy for birds. My only concern is having to disassemble to clean.

For those having a hard time peeling the plastic protector off, just use the tip of a precision knife. Easy peasy.

Purchased this and was initially thought there was something wrong with it as the cover was dark brown, I didn’t realize until I read further comments there is a stick on cover that needs to be removed.
