Life saver for my snail
My little guy refused to eat food with calcium powder on it, so I had to resort to a cuttlebone and this was the best choice I couldâve made. Heâs finally taking in calcium 🙂

Rusty metal inside of bone???!
Iâm not sure why there was even a metal shoved through the bone to begin with but there is and it is extremely rusty and left rust marks along the inside of the bone where it was shoved through. When I was getting it out the bone shattered; the other bone had no metal inside of it but was shattered inside of the package. I think they are old, the one with the rust is definitely old because itâs literally RUSTY. The texture is also off not that of what the bone should be and I donât think the nutrients are correct because it smells weird too but that may also be because of the rust. Iâd like to know why the hell there was even a piece of metal shoved through the inside of the bone to begin with let along a fricking rusty one. Ridiculous. Wtf

Very small
I should have read more closely that they are 4 inches in length, however my cockatiel really loves them. The problem is they are entirely eaten up within one day. So the four in a pack will be gone as soon as I put the last one in. Wasnât expecting them to be devoured so quickly. Giving them to him judiciously. So thatâs why I didnât give 4 stars. Never purchased cuttle bones so small. Will have to buy the bigger ones next time.

Inconsistent Quality
The first time I ordered a 4 pack of the small cuttlebones, they were good. In fact my cockatiel ate through them faster than other brands I’d bought.The 2nd time, all 4 were brown. It was not obvious how bad they were until they were removed, as the softer brown side was facing the cardboard backing.I scraped off the top layer of one to see if it was white underneath, and the brown continued all the way through. Similar to a rotten apple core color.I was able to get a refund through Amazon, and I will try and order these again and hope the next package is ok, like the first time, but now I’m not as confident purchasing these. I hope I get a whiter, healthier looking set again.
