Bird loves them. Might not last very long.
These are fairly small, which works for my small bird. I learned she loves Sola balls with a toy and tried these. Well, she was able to pick it up (it’s half her size so that’s how light they are) and I left to go do some work. I came back about 30 minutes later… and the ball was gone, and there were little incriminating shreds everywhere. So, these are probably going to delight many parrots, but don’t expect them to keep your bird’s interest for hours. You might get lucky, but mine could easily go through this whole pack in a few hours and ask for more, so I have to parcel them out carefully. But quick destruction is a complement otherwise!

softer than expected
I did not expect these toy balls to be so soft. My African Gray makes light work of these delightfully odd toys, but I do like watching the show of her enjoying them. The material is like styrofoam but in a ball shape. One of these does not last her long, but my Quaker parrots have a harder time trying to make a dent in these. I recommend them for the medium to small birds that will find these very interesting and take many hours to be intrigued. Looks wonderful in the cage!

Great toy for small birds!
I have two green cheek conures, and one of them is OBSESSED with sola! I marked sturdiness and durability as low in my review, because this is supposed to be an easily-destroyed toy. My Coco’s newest game is to shred his ball in the early morning hours instead of waking us up quite as early – absolutely priceless for the extra sleep time! I did end up going directly to Bonka’s website because you can buy larger numbers of balls at more of a wholesale price though. If like mine, yours shreds one a day, you’re better off buying direct. If you have a bird who plays with it more occasionally like my other bird, the Amazon shipping is hard to beat! Either way, this is an absolutely bird-approved toy for my flock.

4 stars….5 if they lasted longer!
My birdie Bo LOVES this thing! He shreds it to smithereens! I wish they lasted longer. It’s a bit pricey for a “toy” that lasts minutes instead of hours or days. But if Bo loves it, Bo can have it!

My birds loved them
My birds are chewers. They loved getting to chew these up once they got iver the newness of them. They are a nice alternative to something your bird may find around the house. Mine likes cords so when I got these it did draw their attention to the real toy and away from the dangerous cords.

Parrot Loves These
Don’t last long but my parrot loves these sola balls. Yes, they are a bit expensive but a happy parrot makes for a happy parront. ð

Budgies love them!!!!
I got this for my little construction-worker budgie hen. If you own a flock of budgies you probably have one or two of them too, they like to chew and dig up everything. My little hen was initially afraid but that lasted about 5 minutes and then she was rolling around on the floor with these and destroyed them within a day. I’ll give her one a few times a month to give her a break from the harder chew toys she typically uses. They are free from dyes and other harmful products and I love how much the birds took to them!I don’t know that they are well suited for bigger birds as they are very soft and chewable, but for budgies and other parakeets, they are an excellent diversion for an afternoon. They can make their own cage floor bedding!

It took me two weeks to get my conures to check these out, as they were terrified of them at first. Understandable when it looks like a bunch of eyes to them, and I don’t particularly like the look either!I started with leaving the balls visible in the room for a few days with no pressure to interact. Then I started shoving safflower seeds into the holes until they learned that they could get a seed from it. Eventually they would follow a pile of treats left nearby and hesitantly beak at the balls, and grab a seed. After another handful of days they started to enjoy the texture and would attack them without any treats, which they now love.My problem now is they get shredded quickly and I now have to work another job for their sola addiction.

Amazon sent this in a bubble pouch and one of the balls was crushed. My conure is still enjoying destroying all the pieces, but I would have liked to have all of what I paid for. Itâs not worth the hassle to return. These balls are surprisingly soft. I was expecting something closer to soft wood, but itâs like popcorn. Oddly enough, this gave me the idea that I should just make popcorn for my bird which is what Iâll try next. Overall, it was a good experiment to keep our bird from destroying our furniture and home.

Keeps my bird busy once he got used to it. My green cheek conure loves it.

Waste of money as she won’t go near them.
