Very good looking stuff and cleared even quicker that I expected
I bought this to test it out for a tank that is going in the wall of my living room so I started a 75 and it will be fully loaded just to test it out. Very good looking stuff and cleared even quicker that I expected. I got 80lbs today at 5:30 and all 80 was in the tank by 6:30. It is now 9:30 the same day and I can see that back of my tank which is 18″. I read a lot about problems with magnetic particles in the sand so I took and very high powered mag and ran it through 2lbs very well and when I took it out there was not one practical stuck to it so I am hoping and praying that I am right about this. Most of the post I read no one seems to know if it was CaribSea or could even guess what brand; they just said it look grey and it tanked(lol) their tank, so I am a little skeptic wither they were just talking out their butt. Only time will tell, but what I can tell you is I have been in the hobby for 20+ years and have had several tanks going from 50 to 275 gallons and not a one of them looked as good as my tank does right now and I have nothing but live rock and a few starter fish to get the cycles kicking. I know without a doubt that if this product is as good as I hope, it will be going in my 600 that is going in my living room wall. We all know the range of colors that are in reefs so to see it the black, and it is black, not grey, on that very vivid purple of the live rock, WOW!!!! I already know that as I load the tank up in 60 to 90 days it is going to far pass any tank that I have had or seen. I was worried also that it was take away the lights being black instead of beach white,,, nope, not even a little bit. The rock pops and the sand looks GOOOOD… Oh and I did NOT run into and large pieces like gravel size. Little bigger than sand but not a size that bottom diggers would have a problem with. I hope this helps anyone thinking of trying out. I will keep this updated cause I looked and looked for info before I ordered and really there was just not enough..

Biocube 29 diversity
Great product. Came well packaged, and speedy shipping for such a heavy item. Great volcanic pumice, with white quartz salting.Really bring out the colors. Our reef looks so vibrant now. We look at it all the time thinking “why didn’t we do this a long time ago.”We did find magnetic material, so be very careful. We haven’t had any problems yet… But just be aware. This is real pumice after all so metal may be present. We added to a biocube 29 and a single bag was just enough for 60#s of live rock. You may want to buy 2 just in case.Love it,

A lot more white grains than expected
It’s mostly black but there’s still flakes of white. I will say I added this after the ammonia and nitrite part of the cycle and had nitrates a few days later so I believe it has good bacteria.Still good quality for what value you pay.

Beautiful
This black sand has made our saltwater aquarium so beautiful! It changed the looks of it from the white sand we had. The aquarium has now cycled and we have added only one fish to make sure. I can’t wait to get the rest in there and add more!

Expired
Very angry! The Agri live is a bacteria infused product that has a shelf life. I was sent out of date expired product.

Helps get your cycle going
I’ve used Arag-Alive products before. The live sand really helps to jump start your saltwater tank cycle.

The best live sand for reef keeping!!!!
It is amazing!!! I had white sand before but having black sand is a lot better imo. It brings out the color of the corals much better. There is little cloudiness in the water after putting the sand but after a couple of hours, it was perfect. The sand is not all black, there are tiny grains of white which makes it perfect. It is the best live sand for me!
