The Carlson Tuffy is an amazingly versatile expandable pet gate with patented small pet door. This all-metal expandable is the first of it’s kind. Expanding 22-38-inch wide and stands a convenient 24-inch tall. The metal frame is strong, sturdy, and durable making this gate extra secure and superior to plastic. Super easy to install, takes literally seconds. Pressure mounts and locks with the patented Easy Fit Locking System. Soft rubber bumpers are gentle on walls and keeps them scuff free. The lightweight compact design is great for travel and storage. Slate size is 1.75-inch wide. To set the gate, grab both sides and expand to the desire width, lift the locking pin, moving it into place and securing it in the open hole. Now just twist the plastic knob to adjust the pressure until the gate is safely secured against the wall.

This gate is a LIFESAVER. I have a door thatâs 24 inches wide & Iâve been looking for something that fits that also featured a tiny door for my cats (my dog enjoyâs eating out of the litter box & I keep my litter box in my bathroom). Well it works GREAT. Itâs a heavy metal, not a cheap plastic like I thought it would be. And it fits perfectly in my small door.

Love this gate
The gate isnt too tall for my cats to jump or me to step over while doing laundry, but tall enough to keep my corgi out of the cat litter. Until recently he could fit through the litte door to squeeze in, but he has grown to bit and his new harness helps to inhibit him from entering. After reading the instructions its simple to put up, and it comes with these screw in place holders for the gates feet, which you dont need unless you have a very rowdy dog. Its very sturdy without them.

Love this gate ! I was. A bit nervous about the size and how big the pet door would be ! However both of my cats use it NO problem! They both fit no problem! Itâs metal so itâs not flimsy or breakable like the usual brown gates would be etc. for reference the tan cat is monkey heâs 14. He canât jump a gate so this is perfect for him he is 8lb about normal size. Black and white cat Cosmo is 12 lb heâs a ragdoll main coon mix heâs a pretty big cat and has no issues ! Bought this as we just got a new puppy and heâs so eager to eat the cat food, my Cosmo can jump the gate no problem but as our old kitty monkey canât jump gates we needed an alternative, this is perfect ! Highly recommend 10/10.

Gate is great, size description not so much!
The gate itself is functional and easy to install. I was expecting a gate that accommodated 22â-38â like the description stated in the ordering section. When I received it, however, the box said it was for a beginning width of 26â. It was only when I read further down on the page that anything is mentioned about a 26â width. The area that I need to gate is just 26â so I canât extend the gate to make the pet door available for my cat. Not good, Amazon. Misleading and inaccurate. Fortunately, I can secure the gate in the opening to leave room underneath it for my cat to get through. Please read ALL of the descriptions of it, top to bottom!

This was perfect for our shower stall which has a very small opening. We needed a way to keep our 85lb pitfall in the shower while he got a shower. He will walk right in now and loves the peanut butter on his doggy lick mat we purchased for wall. This gate gets wet and it is rust free. it is heavy duty. Great purchase.

Takes a Little Work to Get It Up
When I first got this product, it seemed easy enough to get the product working via the enclosed instructions; however, in actuality it was a bit more complicated to use.You put it in the doorway but to tighten it, it is counter to what you would think. Once you understand how to create the tension for the gate, it is easy to set it.The gate removes quickly by pulling the pin. You can always find a YouTube video to see the install which is what I did. Once it is up, it is pretty solid and the pets adapt quickly to the cat gate.For the price, it is good product, but just a little tough to get it going in the beginning.

Perfect for our needs
We needed something simple just to keep the dog away from the cats food when we’re not home to watch him. Can he jump over it if he wanted? Absolutely. Does he? Nope. The little door is perfect so the cats don’t have to jump over either. There are two cats and two separate feeding areas and the gate was perfect for both areas. EIt’s short enough I can step over if needed.Set up right out of the box is a breeze.If I had a larger dog, or one who wasn’t (for the most part) well behaved, I would have gone with something larger. This one was perfect for our needs

Iâve been using this for 9 months now and itâs awesome! Extremely easy to setup & use. The little cat door is so great. I use the gate to separate my cats and dog at dinner time. When the cats are finished, I just open the door and all of them can come & go.My dog is 20lbs and fits through the little door, but if I close it, he wonât jump the fence.I definitely recommend – after 9 months it looks as good as day 1 and doesnât pop out of the door.

I purchased this more as a child gate that I can move easily from opening to opening when I have my Nephew around. I can absolutely do this and it works a treat. Loosen the “tightener” (I don’t know the real name), Lift the pin and away you go to the next area. Contemplating getting a second one just to make things even easier but will see how we go with the 1 for now.Highly recommend as its so simple to use.It also has a small pet door so works great for my small dog.
