Customers say
Customers find the horse fly guards effective at keeping flies off the lower legs and appreciate that they stay in place well. Moreover, the product works well and fits properly. However, the durability receives mixed feedback – while some say they hold up well, others report they don’t last long before falling apart. Additionally, the Velcro quality is a concern, with multiple customers reporting badly torn guards.

My failure recommended fly boots to cut down on stomping and chipping feet because of flies. My horse is turned out in large pasture 24/7, and these have held up well. They havenât ripped, have strong goo quality Velcro, and they stay up. I bought two pair for the front legsâafter rain & mud, Iâll take one pair off to wash and put the other clean pair on. They hose off and air dry easily. Other riders also use the same boots at my barn, including a draft horse. We are satisfied.

They sag and cause rubs!
These were great for the first few days and held up well. However, they began to sag around the fetlock and ended up giving two of my horses nasty rubs! If your horses are out for less than 12 hours at a time they might be ok but I wouldn’t trust them any longer than that.

Durability
These are great. They stay up on horses legs all season even in the mud. I have them on multiple horses and they all work great. When dirty I put them in washer on gentle cycle.

Effective but chafe if used constantly.
These boots fit and fasten very well on an average-sized paint or quarter horse, and they WILL keep the flies off the lower legs completely. However, donât plan to leave them on all the time, because they do rub sores after awhile. Plan to alternate with waterproof fly spray.

Needs better Velcro
Love these but the Velcro already ripped off and he has only worn them a week. Disappointed in the construction of the Velcro.

Good value
These work well and stay up. I watch and get them on a discount for a certain color or whatever. Horse wears 24 7 due to bad flies May-Aug and one set lasts one season. She wears them out and I throw them out. Pleased overall.

Great protection for the price
They stay up very well and hold their shape, the best of any fly boots I’ve seen. I like the color; however, it is rubbing off the plastic in places, leaving a white plastic. They are starting to get holes in them above the fetlocks, right where I assume, she is kicking herself and the nails on the shoes are cutting the plastic. Normal wear and tear that I’d expect. They are protecting her from reopening cuts on the insides of her front legs where she was kicking herself. I’d rather the boots than her legs get cut.

Not happy! Fell apart after one day of wear.
I have been ordering these every year for maybe 3 years. This time, the moment I took them out of the pkg, I thought that the material was different. It seemed very slick. I put them on and I felt them immediately slip down his leg. I fastened them a little too tight for my liking, but was not convinced that they would hold. The following day I arrived to find that one leg had ripped in 2. the bottom half was scrunched down on his hoof, and the leg portion I found in the run-in shed in his pasture. I had cleaned last years’ pair in the meantime, and despite a small tear decided to re-use them as they were in better shape!

Well made and they stay on !! The Velcro is heavy duty.

Les attaches du bas sont élastiques mais pas celles du haut. Celles-ci ont tendance à détacher pour les pattes postérieurs.Jâai essayé une grandeur plus grande mais il les perd et marche dessus. Elles ont toutes déchiré.
