Installion instructions
1. Draw outline on the paper board
Draw the cat door frame on a paper board and cut it down.
Note:
You had better prepare these necessary tools first, pencil, ruller, electric saw, drill, screwdriver, double-side tape.
2. Draw outline on the door
Use a pencil draw around the edge of the cut paper on the door you want to be fixed to.
Note:
Generally, average installation height is around 10-15 cm from the floor.
3. Drill 4 corners for holes
Drill 4 corners for thorough holes first with an electric drill
4. Cut out a tunnel hole
Cut out the tunnel hole with an electric saw starting at holes drilled.
5. Put the cat door in the door
After the tunnel hole is cut out, it’s better to wrap around it with a layer of wood skin. And if your hole is cutting a little big, it’s quite neccessary.
6. Cut down tunnel depth if necessary
If the cat door is too thick for your door, use a scissors or cutting machine to cut down some part of tunnel along the line A or B. The cutting scale is about 2-4CM.
7. Mount to the door
Mount the cat door with double-side tape to the door. 8 screws have been provided for your use, tighten them with a screwdriver on both sides.
Note:
8 screws for 4 holes on both sides, screw them all in 2 sides as illustration shown above, please. These 8 screws are designed to work together, they are not short.
8. Done
Place screw caps over the screw holes, press them on. The installation is completely done.

no more raccoon visits in the night. took 3 weeks for my cat to use -i think because entrance to flap is slightly deeper than his old door and theres a faint click sound when chip is recognized and flap unlocked. he trusts it now and uses all the time. easy to set up. had for a year – good as new after constant use. a game changer.

Quick install, snug fit, easy to push open
Just got it today and installed it, so I cannot speak to its longevity. Should it break in a short time, I will update the review.I can see the plastic door getting scratched up after a while as a distinct possibility, but frankly, how is that supposed to be prevented? We wanted one with the ability for the cats to see through, so unless you want one with an opaque swinging door, I think you are just going to have to assume that over time, the clear plastic will have visible scratches and smudges. Right now it’s perfect (just installed) but I will come back with an update as to how long it took before it got scratched up (I’m just assuming it’s going to happen.)Install was super easy for me, just a drill, drill bit, screwdriver and jigsaw.The thickness of my door was perfect for it, and mine are standard doors, so most people should be OK. I think these are 2 3/8″ doors… I THINK! So I didn’t have to cut down the plastic at all, but I can see how that would be obnoxious and hard to do, so I got lucky, but not really. Like I typed earlier, these are designed to fit standard thickness doors, and it did.I did not use the wood strip they recommend getting (not included), nor did I use double sided tape. When I cut the door, I cut it on the small side (so I thought), and it turns out it was super-duper snug but not actually too small. I was actually afraid it might be pinching it to the point where I would not be able to fit the second piece, but I got lucky and it fit so tight that I didn’t bother to remove it and use the other items. I didn’t see the point. If in a little while I notice it starts to get loose, I’ll update, but at that point, that will be my fault, as I am admitting I didn’t fully follow the instructions (yeah…lazy, I know).My only complaint, even though I am giving it five stars, is that the screws you get are soooo soft, that you want to make sure you use a screwdriver and not a power drill to install them. I barely touched the screws with the drill and it stripped the heads. I was able to salvage it and make it work, but the last 6 I put in by hand, with a screwdriver, without incident. Use the right size screwdriver too or you might have an issue.The 4-way mechanism is straightforward, seems like it will be durable (I’ll update as needed), and it doesn’t take a lot of effort to push it open, so even little cats and kittens can do it once they are trained.I would recommend, and I like that it comes in white because I think black on my doors would look funny.

A piece of cake to install
I needed something easy yet sturdy and functional. I am happy with this product. I put it in a window and used plywood as the base rather than putting it in my door. Works really well.

4 1/2″ grinder with 1/16″ thick cut-off wheel is the best way to install in steel entrance door.
Nice door for the price. I used the included screws to mount each side to the respective side of the door. They are plenty tough to hold the plastic frame in place. This is my 2nd pet door install. The first was mounted on an interior wood door, and I used a jigsaw to cut the hole. I considered a jigsaw for this install, but after doing some reading, I decided to try my angle grinder with a 1/16″ thick cut off wheel. I used the outside facing frame of the pet door as a template (the part of the frame intended to fit through the door). I traced it with pencil, and went back over with a sharpie. I cut on the outside edge to leave some wiggle room. The outside frame will cover quite a bit of over cut area. The trick was the thin cut off wheel. Once through the steel, it cut very easily through the steel, and it was easy to hold a straight line without any guide. I did pre-drill the four corners of my tracing, just as a guide. You cut one side of the door at a time. Use the drilled holes as your guide for tracing the other side of the door after cutting the first side. It’s easy to remove more material with the grinding wheel if you need to take a little more off for the frame to slide through. I’m going to link the 1/16″ cut-off wheels I purchased through Amazon. The cut-off wheel performed great. Definitely pop the pins out of the hinges and put your door on sawhorses. I used a face shield instead of safety goggles (face shield doesn’t fog up). You can wear glasses under a face shield too. The cutting of the hole is the trickiest part for sure. I used a punch to start the holes for the 8 screws that hold the frame on (4 on each side). Would Buy Again
This door works great. We sometimes have to separate our dog and cat when they play too hard in the house. With the secure lock on this door, we don’t have to worry about either one of them unlocking it. They can and do sit, stare at, and talk to each other from either side of the cat door. I like the black; it blends better with the door than the white.

Easy to install; great features
This was one of the easier cat doors I have installed. The magnet in the frame keeps the door from needlessly flapping when the cat enters and exits. Because of the magnet, the cat does need to apply a little more force to go through, but if this becomes a problem, there are ways to remove the magnet. The selection knob is much better than the other cat doors we have in the home the use a sliding mechanism.

Flimsy and poor design
The door is poorly designed. It is all flimsy and plasticky. Our cat (average size) is able to just break it open if he really wants to because the door bends and the latch is not large enough. Magnet and weather strip fell off after a few months of use. It is easy to glue back a magnet, but the weather strip just deteriorated. It seems like the moving parts are better be made from metal rather then plastic.The screw holes on the top are too close to the opening, which require extremely precise cut. Otherwise the screws wont’ hold. It makes it extra problematic if the door you are installing it in is not just flat.On the bright side, you get what you pay for. It is very cheap and it looks like replacing it with an identical one would be my annual chore. It boggles the mind, but there aren’t a lot of good options for such a common thing as a cat flap around, so I am sticking with this one for now.

Perfect for our small cat, we installed a 1â thick styrofoam insulation into the open window, then cut the hole to size and installed cat door into that. Easiest install, we did have to epoxy the door frame to the insulation because of how we decided to do it so itâs perm, but for the price keeps the house warm and with some treats/encouragement kitty loves the freedom. Door works great with a wee magnet to keep it closed. Had to prop and show how but she got it. Going to paint it out to make it pretty.

Mijn deur is een beetje te dik voor dit luik. Daarom ontstaat er een open ruimte en ben ik genoodzaakt om het luik andersom in de deur te maken. Ook is de borstelstrip niet dik genoeg en zie je rondom het deurtje een kier waar kou doorheen kan. Gebruik ook andere schroeven dan die erbij zitten want die zijn van ontzettend slechte kwaliteit. Dit luik is echt zijn hogere prijs niet waard.
