Squirrel disapporoved!
Birds love it and the squirrels are not interested. Paired with a great baffle, no more squirrel issues!

So far, so goodâ¦.
I was not sure if the squirrels would be deterred by this food but so far, I have not seen one at the feeder. I thought at first the birds were not going to take to it either but after about three days I noticed the first bird, a cardinal, feeding there. He was soon joined by his mate, two bluebirds, several titmouse, chickadees and even a woodpecker. The food is a little pricey but there is not a lot of waste like with other foodsâ¦since the birds like it, they eat it and donât throw the other seeds they donât care for on the ground. Very happy with the purchase.

Squirrels leave it alone
Seeds are hulled, so mess is minimized. Seeds are spicy, so squirrels no longer empty the feeder within a scant few hours– they just stay away from it entirely. However, the birds (cardinals, sparrows, morning doves, etc) make pretty rapid progress on it themselves (they will eat all but the chaff within a day or two). It’s on the pricey side, so I’ve considered “diluting” with untreated seed–but haven’t yet, so can’t say what proportions might work well.Advisable to wash hands after handling, particularly if prone to touching your eyes.

ð¥ð¥ð¥ð¥ similar to….why you don’t make your ownâ
…so i looked into making my own, but univ bird site said not a good ideaBc this is sprayed on so it sticks…and if mixed around loosely w powderThat can get in their eyes and burn so i buy this and sizzlin…Its similar but i slightly prefer sizzlin bc this has lil corn pieces that they seem to just leave all over my deck…ð¥ð¥ð¥ð¥

Not a squirrel deterrent
The birds still eat it, and I do have several cardinals coming around BUT it does not deter squirrels. They happily sit and eat this seed just like they do any other.

What can I say…
Birds love it, squirrels hate it. Oh, but sad news…nothing deters mice or rats. I think they’d even eat concrete.
