Great Perch
Birds mostly used it as a perch with no interest in playing it, but it was still cute! Pleasant noise without being too loud. Worked well for our cockatiel, green cheek conure, and goffin cockatoo. Sturdy and sits securely either horizontally or vertically on cages with both 1/4 and 1/2 bar spacing.

Bird loved itâbut does not produce tones
As a musician I expected this to actually produce tones. It does not. It makes muffled jingle sounds, but it is not constructed like a musical instrument. Itâs constructed like a pretty rainbow that looks like an instrument. But it was colorful and my Sun Conure liked walking and chewing on it. It lasted 1 1/2 months before he chewed it up completely. I would caution you not to expect your bird to become a musician. (I was rather disappointed that Mango didnât play a tune, or make any sounds on it) A more realistic goal would be if your bird likes it enough to chew it to pieces. If you want a jingleâpurchase long cylindrical bells that hang from the top of the cage.

Very colorfull but not interactive at all. It just sits there. Very difficult to obtain any sound even for me. Disappointed in the product for the purpose it was toy was purchased for.

ALWAYS MONITOR YOUR BIRD
I keep this only for supervised play due to the size of the space between the bars and the chain itself. My cockatiel is a master at getting his feet in places he shouldnât. I had expected this to be smaller (and less space between the bars for some reason), but it is pretty big. It would likely work a lot better for larger bird varieties, but itâs a bit too much for my tiel.If the bars were a bit closer together (to where I wouldnât have to worry about him breaking his foot), I would recommend it, but itâs a big safety issue for me, and I can get similar play using metal measuring cups turned over (to get sound variations) without worrying about safety.Honestly, skip this toy and just invest in a set of metal baking cups.

Not totally what I expected
I was super excited to get this for our 6 month old conure but it doesnât seem to make much music/noise when itâs tapped. It does seem pretty sturdy which is nice because he likes to try and use it as a perch.I will say it is a lot bigger than I expected which was a nice surprise. The chain it hangs from is also very long which can be nice depending on the enclosure.

The wooden post pulled out of xylophone at top, had to jam back in and glue with wood glue, the metal chain would be easily chewed by a parrot, my rescue pigeons have not been drawn to this item and not used as yet.
