I purchased this as a gift that was wanted by a Colleague (via Elfster). When she opened it and Filled it with water in it, we all oohed and ahhed. Itâs so adorable.

Beta fish home
I gave this to my grandmother as a gift for a beta fish I got her. I like that it has a cork top to keep the fish from jumping out and committing suicide (yes Iâve experienced this before and it took way to long to figure out that my fish wasnât Houdini but had actually escaped his fish bowl and was hiding on the floor blending into my ornamental rug way to well- RIP Norm). The top also has a hole in it so you can put a plant in there such as a Philodendron. I wish it came in a bigger size though. It fits a beta fish fine but Iâm sure they would love more room to roam. My grandmother uses this vessel more for traveling with her fish between homes. She just puts the bowl in the box the it came in and lets her fish ride shotgun while buckled up. Safety first!

Perfect for my little buddy
I’ve had a beta for some time now and stumbled upon this and decided to give it a try. I figured it may be too small but upon receiving it, it does have a decent amount of room for 1 small fish. My buddy quite enjoys it, more than I anticipated. I will note that I don’t think I would let your plants roots get too big. Anything added to the bowl just takes away from the fishes living space. But it’s an excellent idea for propagating new trimmings.

I think it was broken on arrival
Took the glass out of package…started to immediately fill with water….noticed it was coming out of the bottom. I think the glass was cracked upon arrival??? Not great quality obviously.

As other reviewers have written, the purpose advertised for this bowl is to house fish with a plant however the volume, which is not listed, is far too little to keep a fish happy and healthy… it isn’t even a half gallon, probably about a litre and a half. Even for a Beta fish this is not a good environment, it’s like keeping a dog in a small kennel 24/7.. fish need to be able to stretch out and swim around. If you’re going to use it just as a vase with a plant, it is quite nice looking. I suppose you could have fairy shrimp in there, which are a lot like sea monkeys but for fresh water.

This is a beautiful looking vessel which I put bamboo in. It is a small tank that should only have a tiny fish in or just plants. I bought two at different times and both had the bottom break clean off. The first time I thought it was my fault because I put pebbles in it and I thought they were too heavy for the glass but my second one broke last week. I picked it up to tip some water out and the bottom stayed in the tray. Water everywhere.Like I said, if you only want plants in here it would be great but it is very delicate.

Should have done my research before I bought this but discovered post-purchase fish need at least 10L to be happy. So while the ad says it’s suitable for Betta, goldfish or guppies, it’s not.
