Funny and endearing book, about what makes a place a home
I read this book though in a bookstore, then ordered several copies for gifts and one for a classroom. The students and my nieces and nephews all loved it, and were re-telling the story to each other often after the first read. I’ve read to five and six year olds, and other kids up to age nine. One sat down and wrote her own further adventures of Max the duck and his friends.

Two of my Grandchildren loved it so much I bought the stuffed duck, left it on the door step and rang the bell.
