Itâs pricey because it actually works, without stressing your dog out
TRAINING WITHOUT STRESS:Great training tool, is working on my very stubborn dogs. I like that there are 100 stimulation levels, so that I have the ability to train my dogs without causing them distress. I set it at the lowest level necessary to get their attention.THIS IS NOT A âSHOCK COLLARâ (when used properly):People who say that stimulation collars are inhumane probably donât realize that these modern stimulation collars are nothing like yesterdayâs shock collar. I held it in my hand while applying stimulation, so that I could see what it felt like. It does not hurt, but it does get your attention.GIVES TONE OR VIBRATION OPTIONS:You can set it to give tone or vibration prior to giving stimulation, so dogs quickly associate the vibration with the need to pay attention. Half the time I donât even have to use stimulation.WORKED ON MY 2 YEAR OLD RESCUES WITH NO PRIOR TRAINING:I have only been using it for 7 days, and I see more improvement in just 7 days than I have in their entire life. They actually seem calmer because they have clear consistent training. No anxiety from wondering what is expected of them and trying to figure out boundaries and rules.START LOW, GO SLOW:Just start your dog at a low setting, I started at three and worked my way up. I found a level 17 to be perfect for one dog, and a level 25 to be perfect for the other dog.MUST BE SNUG:Just make sure that the collar is snug enough to produce the same amount of stimulation every time. If it is too loose, the level will feel much different depending on the dogs position.USE WITH POSITIVE REINFORCEMENT:I recommend using it in conjunction with positive reinforcement. Every time they respond appropriately, they get a treat. This product has done wonders for my dogs.FOR THOSE ON THE FENCE:For those on the fence that are concerned about stress caused by stimulation, consider how stressful it is for a dog when they get yelled at or punished – and canât figure out what they did wrong.READ THE MANUAL. THEN READ IT AGAIN:This is a pretty high-tech item, and definitely requires a full understanding of how to use it. I read the entire instruction manual several times before I put it on the dogs. Itâs a little bit complicated at first, but reading the instruction manual and watching YouTube videos really helps. Give yourself a few days to practice before you actually put it on the dog.CHEAPER THAN THE ALTERNATIVE:And yes, $300 feels like a lot of money to spend on stimulation collars. However, after using them I realized that they saved me so much money. I had already done a consultation with a professional dog trainer, and was about to spend $1800 to get both my dogs professionally trained – that was the lowest quote I could find. With these stimulation collars, I do not need a professional trainer because I am able to do it myself successfully. And we are talking about two dogs that were pretty much feral when I got them. Professional good ecollar
I tried an off brand ecollar, it would randomly shock my beloved dog to the point it was counterproductive and I returned it. I really have a challenge on my hands with a rehomed GSD and was watching many youtube training videos. The ones from American Standard suggested this ecollar, and I’ve been using it for a few weeks, and the results are good. I actually use the vibrate mode the most, much like vibrate on a cell phone, it’s stopped him from escaping through the hedges, seperation anxiety and I can walk him off leash even by other dogs, or geese at the park, with perfect recall. Worth consideration. Good luck.

Update – Great collar when it works
Got in touch with the manufacturer.It was easy to contact them, even easier to talk with a real human! They care about their product and it shows! Things have taken care of. This collar is amazing for our uses. We have a boy, rescue, that had to go to boot camp, a cane corso/neopolitan mix. I was taught when and how to use it. Mostly, we give a quick tap to get him to stop counter surfing. I put it on him when I wake up and it’s on him till bedtime. He may go 2 weeks before I actually remind him it’s on. Boot camp was 4yrs ago and the collar finally died in October. I bought the same exact collar then. This collar. After 2 1/2 months, it died. That is the reason for 3 stars. For the price it should last longer.

Initial battery died update
Love the device and its versatility. Battery did not keep a charge. Warranty was easy to deal with but still took about 8 days to get a working receiver.Update. Replacement unit lasted a few months then charging port stopped working. It was a loose connection, would only charge if someone held and applied side pressure. Again warranty support was awesome and got a replacement in about 8 days.

My husband purchased this a few months ago for our goldendoodle puppy. And I purchased Foraisv bark collar (to be used when our dog is home alone in her crate–she used to bark like crazy when we weren’t home & our neighbors would complain). Between this e-collar and the bark collar, we now have the perfect dog. And it actually improved the relationship with our dog. She’s so well behaved, we can take her anywhere now… Road trips, Grand Canyon, Redwoods, Yosemite. She does great. And she has so much fun. We even occasionally take her into restaurants with us & she is quiet and well behaved. We go hiking & walk on the beach, off-leash (with her e-collar on). And just FYI, she is only 10 months old. Everyone who meets her comments on how happy she is. She is great with other people & dogs. These training tools have worked tremendously. She now knows the rules & she understands that we’re in charge. We still use positive reinforcement & consistently praise her & give her treats when she is good. I hear a lot of people saying these collars are abusive and inhumane. That’s a bunch of BS. Sheltes are full of returned dogs, and many of those dogs are put down. So many people give up their dogs due to bad behaviors.. when all they probably needed was a good training tool like this. If positive reinforcement alone was all that was needed to correct bad behaviors, then sheltes wouldn’t be filled with returned dogs. I don’t see how this can be abusive, unless used incorrectly & irresponsibly. We keep the e-collar at level 15 & we have never had to go past level 18. She does not respond at levels lower than 15. But every dog is different, just find their tolerance level. The best thing about both this e-collar and the bark collar is that we find that we are using them less and less… Because she’s learning very quickly, without us always having to use them. That was the goal! We are very satisfied. This has saved us loads of time, money & headaches.
