Why make your life harder?
This sand is amazing, Hassle Free and looks GREAT! If you read the instructions on the bag all you need to do is add the sand to the aquarium and add water. Allow time for it to settle, then skim off the floaters and let the filter do the rest. Donât rinse this sand itâs good for the fishies!

Sand is great ( If you get it ) but seller doesn’t always come through
The sand is beautiful and looks wonderful but having said that, the seller can’t be counted on to deliver. I had ordered 2 bags at the same time. One cane in but the other was delayed for whatever reason. I waited and waited for a few days but finally just cancelled because I saw that if I put in a new order, I would have it in 2 days. Well guess what? For some unknown reason, THIS order has been delayed too. WHATS GOING ON ?? If this isn’t at my door by tomorrow ( and I know that it’s in my city because tracking shows it ) I’m cancelling AGAIN and I’ll buy it from a more reputable seller. This is ridiculous and a farce

Surprisingly high quality
Bought this just trying to get some cheap substrate. This stuff is pretty good quality. When i rinsed it, nothing really washed off, just sand that didnt mix with water well. Will be keeping this brand in mind going forwad!

Looks Great
This is a nice size sand. It’s not fine sand as the grains are a bit smaller than coffee grounds. The directions tell you to just put it in your tank and slowly pour the water in and then let it settle. Also not to scrub it, but it does need to be rinsed. There’s lots of dust that needs to be rinsed out. There is also dye that comes out even though it’s coated. I gently stirred it in a bucket but even as gentle as I was I saw some black had come off just a few pieces. You also need to be careful when you pour the water out as the lighter pieces will bind together on the top of the water and if you are rinsing inside they will easily go down the drain. To avoid all this it might actually help to put this in water for a few days before you start the cleaning part. It may be a little easier that way. Be advised that this will scratch glass or acrylic very easily and it sticks to things like your hands or the bucket when it’s wet, so it can be a little messy.Once in the tank and settled, the water is crystal clear and it looks GREAT! The weight is good for holding plant roots down and once you spread it around the way you want it to look, it stays there. This does not have the fine little sparkles that some other substrates do but I am just so pleased with how it looks in my 3 gallon tank. Once I am done cycling the tank I think the plants, guppies and ghost shrimp will look wonderful! One 5 pound bag covered an area of 9.75 inches L by 8.75 inches W to a depth of one inch in the front sloping to 2 inches in the back with quite a bit still left. I would buy it again if I set up another tank!

Really fine good quality sand!
I really liked this sand, and will definitely buy this again in the future when I make a new set up. (I bought this sand a couple of moths ago but my tank broke so I had to get rid of everything-reason as to why I will soon buy again this sand) This sand is really fine and tiny, the only problem I had with this sand was with air bubbles forming with the sand and coming to the surface of the water. But other than that great sand guys! P.S you might lose a bit of sand when cleaning bc itâs so tiny!

perfect for my 25 gallon fish tank!
I was searching for sand that wasn’t to light weight and the perfect solid black color for some time now. Most sand is really cheaply made and is a struggle for it to settle in the tank. This sand happened to be the perfect sand for me with no issues at all! just a precaution and note: always wash your sand before putting it in with your fish & when you put is in your tank let it sit for a couple hours(w/o your fish) while your filter is cycling. They sand does float to the top because of the air bubbles it traps but cleans up nicely after a little while.I have a 25 gallon tank and need 2 bags for my tank the photo shows only one bag I reordered another one:)

Stains the Water Black
It’s lovely black sand! Unfortunately, it dyes the water black. I thought it would clear out after a few water changes, but to no avail. In addition, my betta has developed fin rot that will not go away, although it could be due to other factors. After checking some other reviews, though, it seems that the sand can occasionally come through contaminated in transport.Be sure to thoroughly wash the product after acquisition, and DO NOT use it if the water still turns black after washing. Otherwise, it adds a lovely layer to the tank!

Very black, beach sand texture!
This product is beach sand grit and is exactly what I was looking for! I just began aquascaping my it is BLACK!!! My LED lights are very bright and may make it look grayish but I promise it is so super black!!!!! Did not have a problem rinsing either. When I fill it up with water it will have to sit a day or two like any substrate. Very pleased!

This sand is excellent. Make sure to rinse it firsthand. I did NOT find it had any film or any problems. It looks beautiful and my plants love it.

Fantastic color and weight. My small siphon hardly sucks up any substrait when cleaning. Sometimes in life you get what you pay for. Fantastic product for those that can afford it.

I just used 10lbs in a 20 gallon to cover my gravel. Instant improvement! Love the sparkle! Easy to use, added to an existing tank after rinsing and slowly putting in cupfulls at the bottom. Tank is crystal clear.

My only comment is that this sand is very fine and as a result requires more prep work before using in an existing aquarium. I bought this sand as was the closest to the existing sand in my cichlid tank, that didn’t come in a 20 lb bag. I would have rather the other. However, after the prep work of soaking several times then draining of the floating granules was ready to use. It works well for what I needed.
