Fits Aqueon 40 gallon breeder tank
This fits my Aqueon 40 gallon breeder tank from Petsmart perfectly with a about a half inch of overhang. Definitely not snug, but works perfectly for my lizard. If you have an animal that can lift it you’ll need to clamp it down. Arrived with no dents or dings and the hinge seems strong. It folds 180° in half which is super handy. Seems good quality and as advertised!

Really good top for a 40 gallon, a one size fits all top that’s pretty cool
My daughter just put this top on her 40 gallon tank it’s a little big but that’s ok we think. She has a bearded dragon so it shouldn’t matter that it’s just a little big. I think it’s going to be more convenient using this one since it has it toware we can fold one side over. I’ll write another review once we have used the lid a couple weeks we just put the top on the tank yesterday and now we can move the dragon into her 40 gallon tank.

Exactly what I wanted, though with slightly loose fit. Review regarding reptile care.
This cover is BEEFY, and should easily support the weight of, for instance, a curious cat or a medium-sized lizard who is suspending himself from it upside-down because he’s bad. The mesh is thick enough that I have no concerns about my animals punching/pulling holes into it with their claws, though I imagine a mid-sized to large dog could. A human would have to use tools to break the mesh itself, but bending the frame or breaking the mesh off the frame would both be very doable.
I bought this for an old 40 gallon breeder tank. As the other reviewed have mentioned, is is not a tight fit, but entirely adequate for most animals. Other reviews show it works great for fuzzy pocket pets, like hamsters and rats. If using this product with clips, I would say you can safely keep any medium-bodied lizard or thick bodied snake in their tank with this product. It would not hold anoles or long-tailed lizards due to gaps near the hinges, and I would not personally use it for corns or other slim-bodied rat snakes, but it would easily hold a bearded dragon, uromastyx, or adult ball python (probably would work for young boas, too, but I have not worked with boas much personally). A think a hatchling ball python could escape, however, and I would probably only use this cover for adult BPs, definitely above 1000g (note that some males never attain that size).
As a disclaimer, if you are looking at this product, consider if a 40 gallon is really best for you and your animal. Of the ones I mentioned, most will do better in a larger enclosure. While smaller BDs may thrive in a 40 gallon breeder, many require larger enclosures. Most BPs would do well in a 40 gallon, but it is very dependent on your individual animal.

as well as anything else that could be harmful like any bugs that may come in the house
This works perfectly for my 40 gallon breeder that I keep my hamster in. While he can’t climb out of it on his own, I wanted a lid because I do have cats and wanted to make sure they could not get to him, as well as anything else that could be harmful like any bugs that may come in the house. It is a tiny bit big for the 40 gallon by just a few inches, but it still fits just fine. I also bought some screen clips to go along with it just to secure it a little more and it works great. I’d definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a lid for their reptile or small pet’s tank or terrarium.

Seems sturdy
Been using this for a few months now. It’s slightly larger than size it’s intended for, but about 1/2″, so it overhangs one side or the other. This isn’t a big deal, except that crickets routinely find the escape route. It’s fairly sturdy and works well at this point. I have noticed however, a few holes in the mesh, that I can only imagine, happened before I received it and arrived as such, since it’s only ever been on top of the tank. The holes are small and don’t seem to affect the product, so I’m not worried about it.

Fits a 40 gallon Aqueon tank
Fits my hamster tank nicely. I use this screen lid with 4 clips just in case. A little wiggly/flimsy feeling when you take it off the tank but no issue with it bending, including when I set stuff on top of the screen.

My turtle and I love this lid!
I really like this lid for my turtleâs tank. His water and food dishes are more easily accessible because of the hinge being in the middle. This lid is quite sturdy as my three chonky cats like to sit on top of his tank and watch their turtle brother. The lid arrived more quickly than I expected. Great product!

Easy to use
Everything I wanted

Fits fine, aside from the center. Hinged section is just long enough to interfere with a support brace. If your tank has a center support brace, get a different cover. I can’t be bothered to replace it so I’ll make it work with a couple screen clips.

Perfect for my 40gal breeder size tank for my albino kingsnake. I got a “used” one for a lower price and it has some dents on the top that doesn’t impede its function at all. I love that its hinged so I can open either side. I have a similar one for a 20gal long tank but it doesn’t have the hinge, the hinge is definitely better

Seems a decent enough screen but will have to return it or modify it as it’s not quite long enough to fit my tank.

Perfect fit for my 40 gallon breeder tank. The hinge is great for feeding my turtle. I would buy this again if I need another one.
