Itâs a great way to add diversity to your possumâs diet.
My possum eventually started liking this food. It seems very nutritious and filling. She also loves fresh fruits like blackberries and pears, apples, blueberries, cherries. Possums love mushrooms too. Fruits have a lot of sugar and try not to give them too much if it, they also shouldn’t have dairy, almonds, chocolate, raisins, onions, processed food and especially cake can be deadly to them. Anything that is bad for your dog is triple bad for these little guys. So thatâs why I like this food as a way to diversify her diet and limit the fruit sugars. Still you should spoil them with lots of fresh options. They only live about 3 years so letâs make sure they have happy lives!

Our rehab late-age baby/now juvenile age opossum is a picky eater, but fortunately took to the kibble well. Just make sure their baby teeth are grown in enough and they’re used to chewing soft solids like grapes or tomatoes. This kibble is just as hard as dog and cat kibble, so it can be difficult to chew if they’re still too young (like ours was). We leave this out for Poki to freely feed (in small quantities) after he’s finished some of his other food, or for variety if he’s craving something different. We also hide some of it in his enclosure or in a foraging toy to encourage foraging for food.

A bit pricey
I gave this opossum food four stars instead of five, not because thereâs anything wrong with the food, but $12.49 for a 1 pound bag seems pretty pricey to me. It is an interesting looking mix and I do want to feed my backyard opossum what is healthy for it. The first night I put it on the patio, I looked out and a feral cat was eating it! The cat ran the possum off and unfortunately I have not seen her since but Iâm hoping that she comes back soon. She usually would eat the dry cat food so I will probably just mix a little bit of this opossum food in with it to cut down on the cost.

No Animal Friendly Company
This company suggests to starve animals – see their products and read the back. The fact it’s written to withhold food to any living. being is disturbing.First there is a proper way to transition food, you NEVER stop one food/brand and start another. – read the back! The advice is to starve your animal for 5 days if they don’t like the food, then they will eat. Obviously this company is not animal friendly.You should transition your animal properly, slowly add the new food to the old food. The fact that it’s even written to ‘withhold food’ is very disturbing.I ordered multiple of their products and was happy until I read the back fully. I will not purchase any items from this company. Horrible. How about they not eat for 5 days –
