good grip and strong materials
Works pretty well, although I have tried sharper better ones from other brands, this one still gets the job done. It was not as difficult to place the blade as other comments said, I just gave it 2 slight hits with a rubber coated hammer and it fit right into the handle and it hasn’t come off despite the forces applied when working with the hooves.

A must have
Every horse owner should invest in this handy little tool. Itâs perfect for keeping the hooves looking nice between farrier visits.

Hard to get the rasp on, can’t quite get the motion down to make them work.
It was very difficult to get the rasp into the handle and I almost gave up. I’m used to a straight pony rasp with a handle and I don’t know if it’s user error because of this that I just can’t seem to get this rasp to work. The curvedness of the rasp makes it very difficult for me to get it to work smoothly. I’m using for my goats hooves and I haven’t been successful as of yet to get it to work right. Like I said it may be user error, but it’s too curved in my opinion making it catch on parts of the hoof. Both the coarse and fine rasp were difficult to try and put into the handle, I don’t even know if ill be able to swap them.

Impossible to slide rasp into holder
This seems like a nice idea, but I cannot insert either rasp into the handle and therefore cannot use this tool. I will be returning it.

Why not provide two handles?
The fit is tight, but considering the task at hand, I’d rather the rasp stay in place than slip out while rasping hooves. It would be better to provide another handle for the other rasp for a slightly higher price so we could have the coarse and fine rasp as needed rather than to have to change the file and risk breaking the plastic.

Iâm sure it will be good but putting it together takes some imagination
Ok so I saw the reviews about the is being hard to slide the rasps in. Mine was exactly same could not get it through but wasnât going to return it as I think it will be a good tool for my miniâs. My workaround was to shave out some of the plastic with a knife where the grooves go and then I added a little leather oil to the insides..so after awhile it slides a little better and I got it all the way in but to get it out you will need to tap it out with a hammer. You really shouldnât have to do all this to a new product.

Hard to assemble, then good.
Our trainer said this works exactly the way she needed it too. The files are thick and well made. It has both course and fine files. The holder is thick and saves your fingers. The issue is the plastic is a little narrow for the width of the files, so you almost have to hammer them in. A little shaving of the plastic makes it easier to use.

Good tool
I have horses I ride in nice weather, that live at my friendâs house with a couple other Saddlebreds like him and a small mini-horse herd she owns are there so room for one more!! FYI $$$$$$$ â¬ ï¸ horse owner
I havenât gone to ride for a long time, itâs too effing cold, snowy and gross, wet and nasty. I hate winter. I weigh 91-94lbs and cold weather really hits me hard. I have a BMI of 16 or less, so my tiny bit of body fat and hypothyroid condition makes cold unbearable for me. I donât own enough layers to keep warm lol.
I go help with chores whenever necessary but my friend has told me to not worry about doing horse chores till it warms and dries up. Paddock is going to be a sucking swamp of gummy mud when things warm and melt, and springâs cold rain makes it worse. I am chronically ill and disabled by two serious autoimmune diseases. I mean I walk and ride and stuff, not crippled, but I get really really sick very easily and she has a roommate that is a âhorseyâ person too. And loves the mini goats and show dogs my friend has also so they both let me off the hook for the winter season. Very very kind ladies, I love them to bits.
I know that it is really VERY effective and easy to use however, as reported by my horse-keeping friend. I went ahead and had it sent straight to her as I do the hat and stuff I buy elsewhere (not Amazon I mean) to provide the board and keep for mine. I buy things like this for us all to use on all the horses, great big ones, or cute little minis. It is effective, easy to use, and does a good job at what it is supposed to do for you and your equines
