Fantastic toy (but replace the hook & bell –> they are made of zinc!)
My African Grey and Sun Conure love the preening doll toy. It takes awhile for them to destroy it and provides hours of fun. The only issue is that the hook and bell contain zinc which kills many loved pet parrots. With every doll I purchased, I replaced the hook with a stainless steel one and cut off the bell.Always test anything metal with a magnet. If the magnet connects, then the item is deadly to your parrot and needs to be replaced with a stainless steel version of the metal part or cotton rope!!!! Many parrots die from lead and zinc!!! Any avian vet will tell you about the tragic suffering and deaths of many beloved birds!Zinc is used in many toys due to its cheap cost.It is true that a magnet will connect to stainless steel. However, with lead and zinc based metals, the magnet connection will be much stronger than with a stainless steel material. Iron is also magnetic but covered with non-toxic paint makes it safe for birds. It is better to be safe than sorry since the zinc/lead issue is a huge silent killer with pet birds that many people are unaware of.

Our ” LOVE TO HATE ” toy
I purchased this toy (along with several other toys) for my brothers new african grey baby . He’s chosen this one to be his “love to hate toy” …. Seems to be his therapist for anger management. He gets on it & makes all kinds of a scene acting like he’s having a big arguement with it. I don’t know if it’s the face or what that makes this one get his agressive attention, but he definately gives it attention. It’s a solid, good size & In my opinion one of the “more for your money” toys I recieved. I think it will last him many years. I’m happy with the purchase & I think baby grey is too.

Charlie’s Favorite Toy
My African grey, Charlie, has usually afraid of new toys but not this toy. I have bought at least 15 of these toys over the past year and 1/2. He just loves it. I read that the bell is zinc and I know these can be poison to our parrots, but he doesn’t chew on the bell. The circular hook, though, has a wire wrapped around it and the ends of that wire are very sharp to the touch. However, he does not attack the wire, the ball or the bell. If he was more destructive with his toys, I would worry about that sharp wire and that zinc bell, but he does not chew or play with the upper part of the toy. He is all into shredding the rope. This toy keeps him really busy, and for the price I don’t care how many he goes through.

Best Toy Ever.
I just got this in the mail for my parrot. I have an umbrella cockatoo. She flipped with excitement. You can’t see it, but there’s a bell at the bottom. Its not a forever toy, but its on a chain which makes it amazing I almost didn’t buy it because I thought it was held together by the ropes. Her favorite game is to chew the toy off the piece that attaches to the cage, making the toy a pile of junk on the floor. Its a good size, the knots are fairly tight — did I mention it was on a chain? Good deal for the price. I’m buying four more.

My bird LOVES this toy!
My blue & gold macaw has two of these on her cage, and they’re her absolute favorite toys. She chewed the little wooden blocks out of the ropes almost immediately, but still plays with the ropes all the time. It’s probably one of the longest lasting toys she’s had. She goes crazy over the bell too. She loves to put her head up under the ropes and wears the bell on her head like a hat. It’s hilarious to see her with it. It reminds me of a dog with a rope toy. Anyway, if you have a macaw, this is an excellent toy.

My Grey loves this
This is one of my birdâs favorite toys. He likes to chew the âropesâ and swing around on it making the bell ring. It is a must in his cage and there is always one hanging in there to play with You do need to be careful, as with any toy, that as it gets over played with there are no threads to get their feet or ânailsâ tangled in

Bird has a love hate relationship with this toy.
Marvin, our blue throated macaw, has a love/hate relationship with this toy. He’s a super cuddler, and prefers most of his toys to be made of rope, fleece or other cuddly materials, but he HATES bells. I’ve never seen a bird have such a firey hatred of bells! Within two days, the bell was ripped off of the bottom of this piece and flung across the room. Of course, Marvin is a particularly bright macaw, and very mechanically minded, so I can’t really say that the product was not well made. He’s the kind of parrot that can unscrew his cage bolts from the inside. It takes him less than a minute to figure out some of the most complex foraging toys on the market. This being said, I don’t really think this toy was poorly made, but rather just that Marvin was smarter than the manufacturer. Which, to be honest, is usually the case.
