The pellets dissolve as they get wet and turn into saw dust that masks odors and is a more natural way to collect your cat waste. It is easy to clean and my cat loves it! smelly litter vs fresh pine litter
Really nothing to know.,just buy this product. It’s easy to clean your best friends litter box. It has has zero smell, except for the pine nuggets which have a pleasant and fresh smell that lasts until you change the the litter box. The pine flushes without a problem. I clean out the poop, which is non clumping, and flush. There is no need to throw poop in the trash can or bag it. This cat litter may cost more than the gray, dirty, sandy stuff that dirties your floor and doesn’t hold odor well, no matter what the bag says.

Outstanding Cat Litter – no tracking and hides odors
I used to use a few different kinds of clumping litter. MY cat would always track it all over the carpets and rugs. While it covered the odor of the litterbox it had a strong scented smell. The feline pine litter is fantastic. it hides the odor of the box with no scented odor. The pellets break down naturally and don’t stick to my cats paws or track around the house.The typical slotted scooper isnt suited for this product as its not meant to be sifted. Use a regular solid scoop (like one used for scooping pet food) to cover the broken down litter or to fully scoop it out to the trash.My cat and family are happy and its assuring to know my cats litterbox is filled with a natural product and not a bunch of chemicals that track around my home and areas my children play.

Great *only* for sifting litter boxes
This litter covered the bathroom smell incredibly, and I would keep using it if I had a sifting litter box. Since I donât, I wonât be using it again as this stuff turns to sawdust very quickly, and then youâre left with a big box of dust that my cats ended up tracking everywhere. The pellets are too big for the grates on my scooper as well, but that can obviously be remedied with a different scoop if youâre committed to using this litter.

Truly odorless results
I ordered the Feline Arm and Hammer pine pellets to be used with a sifting litter box set. Conceptually seemed easy enough but there was a learning curve for both myself and Echo Gabriel – my cat.Instructions on how to transition from straight clump litter to the pellets are easy to follow. But things went downhill from there.First my kitten was taking the pellets out and swatting them all around the house and sometimes would even be chewing on the pellets. That worried me because I was concerned about him developing an obstruction in his stomach or intestines.Second trying to sift the pellets was not easy at least for me. It made lots of dust, pellets would get stuck in the openings and inevitably litter would spill onto the floor. I was not a happy camper. However I was determined to make this work because the pellets did the one thing I wanted the most and that was eliminate odors. And when I say eliminate odors I mean zero stench as in zip, zilch, nada, nothing.So I decided I needed to figure out a way to use the pine pellets so that I could do the sifting with minimal dust and not have to stop every nano second to clear out the large pellets that were getting stuck and hindering the sifting process.Second I needed to find a way to discourage Echo from playing his game of swatting pellets all over the house, and then chewing them up.My solution was to use an old fashioned blender. I take no more than a cup at a time of the whole pellets and alternate between grinding and grating . This allows me to control the consistency of what was now becoming a sort of pine litter/sawdust. At first I only made enough to fill a 2 gallon container with this sawdust. I wanted to see if it would work and if Echo would accept the texture of this new litter.To use I fill the litter box with a layer of approximately 3 inches of sawdust and then add about a cup and a half of Fresh step clumping litter.Doing that significantly helps minimize dusting. But what I like the best is that it creates very loose pine sawdust clumps that I can quickly scoop out throughout the day as needed without having to do the sifting every single time.So basically I manage the litter box throughout the day by just scooping and replenishing litter as needed. The litter box stays clean, and there is absolutely no oder because of how the pine sawdust absorbs and effectively neutralizes any odor.For sanitary reasons I sift the litter and wash all basins out weekly. Then I just recycle back in the box the sifted litter replenishing as needed to ensure enough is in the box.I dump the entire mixture at every 4 weeks, sanitize the bins again and replace with a completely new batch of my pine sawdust mixtureFollowing this method has been been very effective in neutralizing any and all odors. Love the outcome!

Very soggy
I bought this because I ran out of my typical litter for my Tidy Cats breeze system. The breeze system allows the urine to pass through the litter and onto an absorbent pad under the litter box. The stool part doesnât get absorbed, and you just scoop it out and strain the loose litter through the provided scooper that has slots in it. No mess. No smell.In the pictures provided on the website, this pine litter it looks like itâs the same type of litter of the breeze system, but it is not! Although I like the scent of this, and it does help mask odors, it is just super soggy and absorbs the urine. So you end up having to scoop it out like a regular litter box, which I hate. For me, the urine collecting everything and smelling is the most disgusting and cumbersome part of cleaning a litter box. Poop sticks to it, and it ends up being this solid, cloppy mess. With this pine litter, I had to clean the whole thing out and empty the entire used litter into a trash bag, because after awhile it just stopped being able to repel odors and collected a ton of urine and feces. My whole house smelled terrible. . Iâm not happy with it. But for some people they might like it because itâs natural and has a nice scent. I definitely will not go this route again to save money.

The product is great and does exactly what it says in the description. Unfortunately, one of my cats disliked the pine smell and crapped on my carpet instead. Gave it to a friend, and her cats used it with no problems. Cats are fickle – what a surprise.
