Good for beginners, it’s always a surprise to people when I put it out and extend them.

the reels alone are worth the price
this is a really economical fishing pole set. You get 2 poles, 2 reels a little box of assorted tackle and a fish lip grabber all for the price of what you would pay for just 1 medium priced reel. But if you are like me you are asking is it any good? here is my observations.1. The reels are nice entry level reels with a nicely designed folding handle for storage. it comes pre spooled with line however the line is a stiff line that has a lot of memory to it make it twist easily. add to that that when spooled it was spooled to loose which again makes it subject to line problems. The first thing I would do would take off the line and respool it with a good quality line of not more than 8lb maybe 10 max which would greatly increase it’s performance and cut down on line problem frustrations. but over all the reels are worth the price of the combo all by themselves they are nice solid entry ultra light reels2, the poles are telescoping 6 section poles with a partial cork handle. I have to say I was not to impressed with the poles even given that the more sections any pole has the less action it will have, I found that this pole has a lot less action than other telescoping poles that I have. all the action is in the last section and very little if any in all the other sections. While the extra fast tip action is enough to give good casting range with a 1/8 oz weight the lack of action on the rest of the pole would give it very little fish fighting action except on the very last section which my concern would be since all the pressure would be on that last very thin section it would be likely to break if you are fighting or lifting even a fish over 12″ onto shore with out a net . The other issue I had was the reel seat. while you can get the reel on tightly it takes a little effort and double checking or it will fall off during use. So over all the poles really are not all that great, they will work at least for a while but I have my doubts they will hold up over time3. the accessories such as the lures and the fish grabber are again entry level and while “anything will catch fish sometimes and nothing will catch fish all the times ” this selection of lures would not be my choice for something that would catch fish most of the times but I’m sure they will catch fish sometimes.conclusion: For the price and for entry level this combo kit is worth the price especially since the reels themselves are well worth the price. For this reason I gave it 4 stars

Very stiff telescoping rod, much too heavy of line
The item came with two telescoping fishing rods, two small spinning reels (each loaded with very heavy line), and assorted lures and hooks. There is also a nylon bag that is big enough to hold the rods with reels connected. The rods and the reels are the same.The rods extended fine. I was able to attach the reels with no problem.The reels are appropriate in size for lake panfishing. I didn’t have any problem with the reels.The line that comes on them is very heavy duty, maybe 20 lb test. Most people are going to want to remove that, and put on some line that fits the reels, such as 4 or 6 lb test. You’re not going to cast the lures that are included, very far, not with that line.My criticism of this item is all about the description saying the item is for beginner adults. Spinning reels are not for beginners, they take practice to use for casting. A beginner isn’t going to understand why they cannot cast a light lure with heavy line. They’re not going to know how to replace it with appropriate line. There are no instructions of any kind explaining how to use any of the equipment.For those who are more experienced, the rods are very, very stiff. I guess that would be true for most telescoping rods. They don’t have much play or bend to them. I don’t know if they would break.The reels seem fine.For tackle there are a couple of poppers, jigs, hooks, rubber worms and frogs, all in a small plastic case.If you get this for someone inexperienced, you will have to show them how to use a spinning rig. If you get it for yourself, expect to spend some time learning how to use one. (Ask any experienced fisherman for tips.)The set is inexpensive. For some people, it would be well worth the money. You can put this in your car and it will be ready if you come across a fishing lake.

Both reels malfunctioned the first time out
I am a newbie at fishing but the first time out with these reels was terrible. For one reel, two pieces came off for no reason and it no longer stayed together. For the second reel, the wire came undone for some reason and I could not get it back together. So both reels were useless. The rods seem to be sturdy though.
