    Great for hamster sand bath
We have used this for 2 weeks now for our hamsters sand box / sand bath, and it is working out extremely well. For reference, we use reptile sand, and the urine clumps enough to easily scoop up with ths sifter. The bedding material that he something throws in the sand is easily scooped and sifted. Super quick and easy cleaning. Would definitely recommend.

Holes are too small for damp sand
I keep the hermit crab sand damp so the humidity levels stay right, and the holes on the scooper are too small to let it pass through. I’m still giving it 4 stars because I was able to skim the very top of the sand to scoop the poo. Yeah, that means that some substrate will be thrown away, too, but it was very little. Not going to replace it because it’s still the perfect overall size to maneuver in the tank.

    Now I’ve seen everything
So back in November when my daughter said she wanted hermit crabs for the holidays (insert whatever holiday you celebrate, no judgment here); we didn’t know what we were getting ourselves into. Have no fear though, this isn’t a review on what a bizarre person I must be for purchasing hermit crabs, or a review on the little creature that lives up to its name. This is a review on a little scooper that one uses to pick up the hermit crabs deuce. This same company sells hermit crab sand, which has mixed up coconut husk in it, which actually kinda looks like the crab dookie. So I don’t even know if it’s picking up the little presents they leave behind, but it doesn’t “filter” the sand and leave behind the “crab crap” like one would think. Instead you have this small hand held scooper with sand mixed in and then you’re forced to ask yourself a few questions in life a) do I just toss the sand and deuce and move on b) try and shake the sand out like you’re panning for brown gold c) give up and just replace the top layer of sand every couple of weeks. Or I guess there’s option d as well d) hope the little creatures don’t survive long and then use said scooper to pick them up. Hopefully it’s not d). I just don’t know if I can handle that day, cause although i don’t understand why one would have this as a pet, or why I invested $150 on these, but I’ve also grown attached to them. Bottom line, this scooper is just “OK”.

    Works for Hamsters 🐹
I don’t know if its good for Hermit Crabs, but it works great for my Syrian Hamster’s sand box. It stops her droppings and her bedding that she drops in there sometimes, it’s a life saver. I just wish the handle was a bit longer and also when you get to a corner its hard to get the sand off, but its not meant for that so its not this item’s fault. Loved it.

  10. Good sand but way over priced

This is absolutely ridiculous. For a tiny piece of plastic.
