Yay, No More Snagged Claws!
My crested gecko, who is 15 years old, had recently developed longer (but still tiny) claws which were getting snagged on her carpet. This Geckopia mat is a great alternative and when she walks on it, she does not get caught! Here is a picture of her trying it out. She tried it both dry and wet (since she is tropical, it will be getting wet when we mist the tank.) I rinsed it in cool water before using and to clean I will spot treat it with a reptile disinfectant and then rinse again in cool water in a plastic tub. I will let it sit on a towel to dry. I am grateful that Geckopia developed this product with reptile health and well being in mind, and I will order an extra to rotate. I always used carpet in her tank as she likes to randomly eat things and I didn’t want her to get impacted. I feed her crickets in a separate smaller plastic container so she can catch them easier and in case we miss 1 or 2, I never wanted them to be bothering her while she sleeps. So biting the mat would not be an issue for us. I am using the 18 x 18 size which matches her tank. Very creative and useful product!

Best option I’ve found so far
This seems like a good option for my leopard gecko. I’ve done so much research on substrates and everyone says something different. I did notice the carpet snags a little easily. It makes me worry about her toes. I feel better with this than the woodchips I had before because I caught her with one in her mouth. I haven’t tried washing it yet because I’ve only had it for a week. It’s super easy to clean up poop messes.

I understand it might not be for everyone, especially for those who prefer bioactive substrate, but if you’re a beginner or looking for an easy and effective way to maintain a clean and safe environment for your reptile, I highly recommend giving this a try. It’s incredibly durableâI’ve even tried washing it in the machine, and it came out looking brand new every time. I use it for my bearded dragon and wow.. this company really seems to make really cool stuff. Lastly, the thin fibers helps preventing issues like teeth and claws getting stuck. If my beardie accidently bites the liner their teeth gets released super well. I’m ordering another one because THIS IS FAR THE BEST CARPET I’VE EVER USED!!!

Too expensive. Needs cleaning constantly.
It’s nice and all but you have to wash it constantly. Too expensive, just like the other ones. I actually went back to paper towels for my dragon. I’ll just use it during brumation when my girl doesn’t poop so much ð

I was a bit skeptical at first when deciding to purchase the 40 gallon reptile liner. I got tired of using paper towels, and reptile carpets are sometimes not safe (due to health risks.) I purchased one to determine the quality for myself and my Leopard Gecko. I am satisfied with the quality as it is both soft, and doesn’t pose any health risks. I 10/10 recommend this liner to other reptile owners.
