One of best orchard grasses on the planet!
I’ve been foster caring rabbits & guinea pigs for over 20 ysr. I’ve been thru hell & back on the hay circuit. I did my research on this farm. This Co. Is family owned and grows their hays on their own farm. They don’t. sub it out to God knows what growers, like Small Pet Select, etc. doesI order the 10lb mini bales of 2nd cutting Timothy & Orchard grass. I mixed them together in a large token. My guinea pig heard loves the balance of both mixed together. There’s very little waste. At least 75% of rabbit- guinea pig diet requires a good quality hay. Less waste means they’re getting proper nutrition & it helps to keep their teeth trim. When you email the farm, they always get back to you forth with. They don’t use pesticides/ other sprays on there hey crops. Many hay Cos throw their hay in a box, leaving it vulnerable to rain, snow, etc while it’s sitting on front doorsteps getting soaked, moldy & ruined! Not this Co! Each hay bail is carefully packaged & boxed to protect the hay from getting soaked in the rain. If you want good quality, healthy & consistent hay from a USA family farm, this is the hay you want. They take the growing of hay seriously and your fur babies will reap the rewards of the farm’s good efforts. Grandpa’s Best is awin-win for your for babies health & quality of life. p.s. A word of caution about hays: NEVER buy any hay- hay treats unless they are USA grown! If the company doesn’t state what country the hay is grown in, then don’t buy it! Always check with your USA growets to ensure they don’t use sprays on their hays either, because some of them do.

My Piggies love it!
I have 7 Guinea pigs. They are super picky about their hay and food. Asked my bf how much we were spending on hay at PetSmart for 2 bags every month. Upwards of $40 easy. Did the math with this box of hay compared to the amount from the other bags. Figured for the price why not try it out? All 7 go absolutely crazy every morning for this stuff. We just replaced the cage liner yesterday and normally by now the bottom of the cage would be covered in hay. Not the case with this. Theyâre eating everything not just digging for the fluffy bits. It smells really good too especially in comparison to the old stuff. Itâs a little bit dryer but itâs mostly the thicker hay bits than the thin pokey stuff. Anyway, we have it on subscribe and save and are very happy and impressed with the quality and will for sure continue the subscription. Itâs hard to find good quality for a good price that they actually eat more than they waste. So I highly recommend if you also have super picky and spoiled Guinea pigs.

Excellent Hay
I have subscribed to regular 10lb deliveries of this hay (orchard grass) for about 4 years now. It always arrives fresh, green, tender and sweet smelling and fluffs up really nicely! Never any moisture or mold. The stems are all soft and tender, different from other varieties of hay (e.g. Timothy) which naturally include some thicker stems. My guinea pigs popcorn when I refill it and eat it up! I live in Hawaii, and I have not been able to find better quality hay anywhere for any price. I also appreciate the fact that such a large amount of hay can be stored so nicely and neatly. Some reviewers have noted dust–I have observed that some bags are a little dustier than others, but on the whole, the dust level is quite low.

Good but pricy
I was getting this for awhile but stopped my subscription since the price keeps going up. Started at like 20 bucks and now almost 30 in about 2ish years. I found a different place to get hay that’s cheaper and I get more and it’s timothy hay instead of orchard which my piggies perfer.

WONDERFUL Hay and Thoughtful Method of Packaging
I live in a small urban flat and am the momma of rescue buns – all litter box trained, so they hop all around. This is the greenest/freshest hay I have ever bought, the buns love munching on it… but I LIKE IT BECAUSE the way it’s packaged. I bought the 10 lb qty (I just run thru hay), it’s BEYOND easy for me to store (is replacing my huggggggg box of hay) and it’s also very cleannnnnn in my house. … the 10 lb package arrives VERYYYYY COMPRESSED which keeps all air tight (the hay fresh), its easy to pull out and “fluff up,” and bc it’s very short staple the hay stays IN their cages and does not get spread around my floors as they hop about (I’ve been cutting my hay bc that is sooo annoying!). I appreciate the thought this seller has given to this… and the demo video was also helpful.

Short cut grass
I was quite disappointed by the quality of this orchard grass for my guinea pigs. The pieces are super short 2-3 inches, so there is no fluffing it for foraging. It immediately gets flat and peed/pooped on. It looks like lawn clippings.

Bunny loooves it!
I was a bit scared to try out this hay since my bunny is quite picky, we’ve tried a bunch of different brands and types of hay but this one seems great and my bunny really LOVED it! nice smell, minor dust and highly recommended >:D

Fresh and green, Rabbits loved it
I have 4 picky buns. Ive tried so many different types of hay from online to the pet store. The products have been inconsistent when I do find something which led me to buy this. I have bought several different products right here on amazon and have not seen this before. When I did I thought I would give it a shot. Before this batch I was buying alfalfa at the feed store. It’s the only thing they like and I know it wasn’t healthy to carry on doing that. They loved this stuff right off the bat! They needed no transition at all! It was green and soft. As long as the quality stays like this I will be a customer for life, or at least the next 10 years of their life. I love how compact it is. I used to keep the feed store bale in the garage but now I have this in a container in the house. Doesn’t smell up the place of hay either (maybe I’m used to it lol). I will recommend this to my bun friends!
