Gerbils may find it more useful as a chew toy
Spins quietly, as promised, and looks great. I expected the gerbil might chew the wood (and it has) but I did not expect the gerbil to pull out all of the cork in chunks and mix it into its bedding. The wheel still spins easily and I’m hoping someday the gerbil will figure out it’s a good exercise wheel instead of a bathroom.Update: Within two months gerbil enjoyed the wheel very much as a chew toy to the point where it is no longer a wheel. He never decided to use it for exercise.

Good but not great
Super cute but my hamster immediately started to tear out the cork lining in the wheel and made a mess out of it and loves to chew the wood. So itâs alright but should have gone with a plastic wheel. Also Iâm not sure how to clean it good without soaking the wood which would probably ruin it.

PROS: My hamster likes it and it is very quiet. The bolts are sealed inside so no chance of chewing up the connections.CONS: The base is sturdy but the wheel itself wobbles like crazy. I’m a little worried my hamster might injure herself running on such an uneven surface.

Looks beautiful and is built well, however, these materials are not easily cleaned. It will become saturated with hamster urine and start to fall apart, as mine did.
