both my birds like these!
Nutritious treats. Palatable. My parrots enjoy them. There is little waste as they are compressed instead of light and crunchy.

A daily treat to go with Harrison’s nuggets/main daily diet
This product, along with the entire Harrison’s line, is excellent for birds.None of us should own parrots unless we live in Africa or the Amazon area. It’s simply cruel to keep them in domestic Western environments.But, many of us do. It is imperative that we feed them properly. Harrison’s was developed by veterinarians who understand the science of this branch of birds. I trust them.Our Grey has been eating the line, including Power Treats (just a handful daily), for 18 years. She loves the Power Treats and asks for them, and she eagerly eats the Adult Lifetime and Adult Coarse nuggets as a staple of her diet.We also give her the Red Palm Oil meant to supplement avian diets, spread on some of her fresh food. She gets fresh fruits, vegetables, and greens every day. She also has organic sesame seeds (just a half teaspoon over several days) and a few organic, raw, roasted sunflower seeds, hulled as a special treat.She never has any processed foods, nothing with salt or cane sugar. The only sugar she gets at all is the scant amount in the Power Treats. No chocolate, no dried fruits, no avocado, obviously no coffee, alcohol or any other junk food that human beings are currently addicted too. Nothing cooked.She gets 8 hours of full spectrum light under a special lamp assembly daily and 12 hours of sleep.She is kept out of drafts, away from loud music, and in a place where she gets plenty of human interaction but feels safe at the same time. There are always two closed doors between her and the out of doors, where no domestic bird can survive for long, no matter the climate or time of year. All her toys are bird-safe wood, cotton, paper, or stainless steel. Any other kind of metal causes lifetime accumulations and heavy metal poisoning which is fatal. We watch the iron content of anything she might ingest so as to avoid iron poisoning, which is cumulative as well. No paint surfaces, no shiny cardboard, no dyes.Having and properly caring for and keeping happy a wild bird like this is a full-time commitment that requires education and constant vigilance. We also have pet insurance for her so if she were to need care, we could afford to give it to her from a Board Certified avian veterinarian.Don’t get a parrot unless you are willing to do what is best for them, please. For their sakes and yours.

Best Bird Food Around
Been on Harrison’s bird food for 35 years. Vet says our Red Lored amazon is the healthiest 60 year old she has ever seen and she loves it.

Great quality bird food
I used a previous pellet for 32 years and decided to make a change when I moved. Shasta, my African Grey Congo, wasn’t eating as well after the move and Harrison’s solved that problem. Feathers, weight, and continued interest all positive experience. More expensive but might be worth the extra money for your bird.

Tasty bit prohibitively expensive
This is a great treat for your parrots. However, the cost has risen from $18.00 to $26.00+ per bag. Can’t afford to purchase anymore. If you’re well-to-do, it’s a great product. 5 stars for quality. Zero stars for excessive pricing.

Highly recommend this food for your bird!!
I have been using Harrisons food for my various small and large parrots for the past 20 years. It was recommended to me when I was visiting Colorado and had taken one of my parrots with me. I will never use anything else but Harrisons for all of my parrots! The health benefits are so very worth the little extra money that you will spend for this food compared to any of the other foods on the market…and I am speaking from experience, since I had tried almost everyone of them out there.I have successfully switched several rescue birds to Harrisons, and I am talking birds that have ranged from a seed only diet all of the way to canary seed only, and all human food only diets :(I have found GREAT SUCCESS in transitioning my birds from other food diets over to Harrisons by offering the Harrisons in more of a ‘mash’ consistency (which is in a almost powdered form)…Yes, Harrisons offers a Mash, but I am talking about more of the ‘consistency’ of it. I have used their Mash for my smaller birds, and will offer their Power Treats to my bigger birds to get them used to the taste, as I have never had one of my birds turn down a Power Treat:)Then I will grind up their High Potency Coarse in my food grinder and blend it with a small amount of the ground up Power Treats for added flavor, and encouragement to ‘search’ for the bits and pieces of Power Treats in the dish since they are now used to that taste :)I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND that you go to Harrisons website and research all of their various types of foods that they offer, along with their expert feeding recommendations under each one of their various types….Their website is extremely helpful to the anyone interested in switching their bird to a healthier diet!!

Picky African Grey approved
I know African Greys can have very strong preferences. Initially she immediately dropped these on the ground when offered as a treat, so new strategy: add one or two to regular food so she has to dig around and ends up trying them. Within just a few days of adding one or two to her food, she is obsessed. I now hide them in foraging toys (she takes too long to eat them for trick training or target training). She has dry and flaky skins so I appreciate that these have palm oil, especially because in the wild greys eat palm fruit. (Although I recognize this is also problematic because it may not be sustainably sourced.) All in all these are prized in this household by my bird!

My feathery baby LOVES THIS!
IF I allowed my 23 year old feathery baby to serve himself on a daily basis his own food, he WOULD eat the entire bag in one shot!!! He absolutely loves these treats! I give him only 6 pellets a day with his other regular Harrison food, veggies and fruits. : – }
