Tell pesky parasites to ‘bug off’ with the Hartz UltraGuard Flea & Tick Collar for Cats and Kittens. This fresh scented, purple collar kills and repels fleas and ticks for 7 months. The water resistant design remains effective even after getting caught in the rain. Also features a breakaway safety release. For continuous flea and tick protection from head to tail, replace the collar every 7 months. Directions: Remove collar from package, unroll and stretch to activate insecticide generator. Do not use on kittens under 12 weeks of age. Do not unroll collar until ready to use. Place the collar around the cat’s neck, adjust for proper fit and buckle in place. The collar must be worn loosely to allow for growth of the cat and to permit the collar to move about the neck. Generally, a properly fitted collar is one that, when fastened, will snugly slide over the cat’s head. Leave 2 or 3 inches on the collar for extra adjustment and cut off and dispose of the extra length. Consult a veterinarian before using this product on debilitated, aged or medicated pets. Sensitivity may occur after using any pesticide product for pets. Some animals may become irritated by the collar if it is applied too tightly. If this occurs, loosen the collar. If irritation continues, remove the collar and bathe your cat with mild soap and rinse with large amount of water. If signs continue, consult a veterinarian immediately. Do not use this product on cats simultaneously or within 30 days before or after treatment of other flea and tick products. However, flea and tick collars may be replaced immediately.

Customers say

Customers are satisfied with the product quality. However, some cats experience skin irritation and allergic reactions, such as dandruff and burns. They also mention that the liquid stuff is toxic to cats. There are mixed opinions on functionality, flea resistance, value for money, smell, and durability.

Effective and Convenient: Hartz UltraGuard Flea & Tick Collar for Cats! Review!
I recently picked up the Hartz UltraGuard Flea & Tick Collar for my cat, and I’m very pleased with the results! With 7 months of protection, it’s a hassle-free solution that keeps my furry friend safe from those pesky pests. Here’s what I think about this product:Pros:• Long-Lasting Protection: The 7-month protection is a game-changer! I no longer have to worry about monthly treatments; I just put it on and forget about it.• Easy to Use: The collar is simple to put on and adjust. It fits my cat comfortably, and the quick-release feature provides peace of mind if she gets caught on something.• Effective: I’ve noticed a significant decrease in flea and tick activity since using this collar. It’s comforting to know my cat is protected from these harmful pests.• Water-Resistant: The collar holds up well even after my cat plays in the rain, so I don’t have to worry about its effectiveness being compromised by water.Cons:• Initial Scent: When I first opened the package, I noticed a strong chemical smell that was a bit off-putting. However, it faded after a few hours.• Not for All Cats: It’s essential to check your cat’s health and suitability for a collar, especially if they have sensitive skin or allergies.Shipping Speed:The shipping was excellent! I received my order within just a few days, and the collar was well-packaged to prevent any damage during transit. I appreciate the fast service, especially when it comes to my pet’s health.Overall, the Hartz UltraGuard Flea & Tick Collar is an effective and convenient solution for cat owners looking for long-lasting pest protection. If you want an easy-to-use collar that keeps your feline friend flea and tick-free, I highly recommend giving this one a try!

Works well for my outside babies
What a great price for collars for my outside kitties. Love the break away so I dont have to worry about them getting strangled. Have not had a problem with fleas or ticks on my babies.

    Didn’t work 100%
For the money I guess they were okay. The cat still have them on but I have to give them the capstar every couple of months to kill the fleas on them, by the way I buy that on a different website that is cheaper and you can auction things on if you know what I mean. I pay half price for those pills. But the flea collars are about the same price. The only ones that I know that are supposed to work 100% are the ones that cost like 80 bucks I can’t remember the name I think it starts with an s

Caused both of my cats severe hair loss and health problems in five days!
This review is for the specific product that I purchased, Hartz UltraGuard Flea & Tick Collar for Cats and Kittens. My complaint is with the product itself and not Amazon. I bought these collars for both of my cats and both of my dogs as a preventative measure. None of them showed signs of fleas or ticks but we have recently moved to a new state where there are stray cats out and about, along with a lot of other insects that were not at our old home and state. Both of my cats are inside cats, trained to be on leashes, walk, sleep and typically stay near us. However, we bought them because I do take my dogs outside and we feared our dogs catching fleas and bringing them into our cats.I purchased them on August 30, 2022 and received them on September 1, 2022. I put them on all of my animals as the package instructed. I left enough room for 1-2 fingers to fit under the collar to ensure they weren’t too tight. In the few days after, we noticed that the cats had strong, foul smelling feces. More than usual. One of my cats vomited a few times but we didn’t think much of it. Maybe the cats ate something when we didn’t see them or something like that. I never thought that the collar would be the culprit (I still don’t know if it is but it’s a big coincidence). Until today, September 6, 2022. My cats came to lay with me and I noticed one had a large bald spot near his neck. The hair wasn’t thin or thinning, it was completely bald. I then moved the collar and saw that it was completely bald under where the collar was. Additionally, parts of it were extremely red and raw while other parts looked dry like skin was flaking off. I checked the other cat and it was the same thing only not as bad. The hair underneath the collar of my other cat was gone as well but the skin didn’t look as bad. I immediately removed the collars and wrote Hartz. I received an email very quickly from them which is a plus I guess. I called the number in the email and eventually spoke to a poison control center that they forwarded me to. They in turn said that they share my report and finding not only with the company Hartz, but a report will be generated to the Environmental Protection Agency. My dogs seem ok but I will remove the collars from them too as a precaution. The poison control center gave me a direct number to reach them at 24/7 in case anything else develops or doesn’t get better. Unfortunately as stated above, I just moved to a new state with my family, tens of thousands of dollars to attend an internship at a hospital here that is unpaid so, not only do I not have veterinarian here, I currently don’t have the funds for that. The lady at the poison control center said that if I had to go the veterinarian, I would have to pay and then contact Hartz and they may be able to help me with the costs. All I can do now is hope that my cats get better. When asked about recovery, the lady at the poison control center said that depending on the cats, it could take weeks, up to years for their hair to grow back if it does at all. This is frustrating because not only did I pay a lot of money for my cats, having them flown in from another country, but because we love them as part of our family. Buyer beware with this product and I hope none of you have this issue. Oh, FYI my cats are pure bread Oriental Shorthair so I don’t know if it’s a breed specific thing or what. Hope this helps someone.

Couldn’t be easier; 100% effective after 6 months in TN.
We were really worried about ticks with a long haired barn cat when we moved from CO to TN. This thing has been 100% effective for 6 months and counting now. She’s expecting a litter in the meantime, so we’ll wait to put on a new one till the kittens are at least a few weeks old, just in case their fragile systems could be effected by a new band. These are fantastic, genuinely.

Ensure you clean your cat of all fleas before you put the collar on. If the cat is heavy flea infested already its not expected to be as effective. The only issue I feel is a strong fragrance which is good for me but I am not sure how the cat is dealing with it.
