Fancy food and easy moth fix
Long time customer, lifetime bird parent. Quality is very good. Sometimes I laugh bc the bird is eating better than I am. Cashews and pistachios are expensive (!!) but included in this seed mix.For those who have moth/bug issues, thereâs an EASY fix.Itâs a common problem with birdseed so I wouldnât necessarily attribute it to this brand. The larger the bag the more you will probably have this problem if you do not do this easy fix. As soon as amazon delivers seed, separate the food into tupperware. Anything not going in the sealed âimmediate useâ container goes in freezer for minimum 24 hours. I usually have to rotate them in bc thereâs not enough room for all of it. If I can, I keep it in freezer a week. This kills all moths etc that are invisibly waiting to come out. I had a moth issue and this fixed it permanently : )

bird loves this and we cannot get large bags local
Our mustache parrot/parakeet loves this brand and mixture. We love it cuz no sunflower seeds. The 25# bag is a great savings cuz one 3# bag is $14 x 8 = $100 or so and this cost $60. The velcro type resealable bag makes it easy to store and protects from unwanted feeders-bugs- and keeps it fresh for the 8-10 mths it takes for our bird to go thru. We store in cool dry area and we have no bug issues or food spoiling or bird not eating. I also got a big laugh from the rating area that asks about flavor. Bird loves it. We have never tried it 🙂

Worth the price
Since Covid, itâs been very difficult to get what I used to which was actually another brand & I was at the point where I just bought small bags from the pet stores. Other brands were just too expensive to buy at a bulk price. Recently started checking again and came across this brand and it was the right size. Price is a bit high but not as bad as a 25lb bag for over $100. Lasts me now about 2-3 weeks which works better.

Love Higgins brand-in addition to being a quality product, they are bird people that stand by their products. Safflower Gold has been the go to for my meyers parrot and green cheek conure for years. They love it! I love being able to get the 25lb bags delivered to my door, at a price similar to what a 10lb bag costs at my local pet store.

Messy and cheap
Was not impressed at all. Glorified parakeet seed. My aviary blew through this /wasted this 3x faster than their normal food. Would pick only one or two things out of it and waste the rest. SO expensive for such a small amount of low quality seed. Avian breeder pellets are much better, less messy, more healthy, last longer and you can get double the amount for just a bit more.
