Very Stable Ranch Playset
This set ships in a box with no pictures on it, and does not come with an instruction manual. Thus you need to figure out on your own how to put it together. The good news is that it’s insanely easy to figure out, especially since the parts are individually bagged by group. All the parts in a given bag are used to assemble that component of your playset. No extras and nothing lacking. Each bag of pieces corresponds in its entirety to a part of the playset.The main paddock presents a moderate degree of challenge in that you need to press the pieces together to finalize the assembly. It took a degree of finesse to ensure the pieces all fit flush and stayed in place, without accidentally causing any incidental damage. It wasn’t hard, just don’t rush and you’ll be fine.The included elements allow for a great deal of imaginative play. There is a fence that can be set up however long or short you want, in whatever shape or direction you wish. There is a horse jump rail… to my shame I don’t know the technical term for it… but it’s the three rails that you can set the height for the horses to jump. These barricade bars also come with red decals that can be affixed to give the bars more realism and greater visibility.It’s interesting to note that this set, in its incredible realism, includes a wide variety of familiar barnyard tools and implements. You have pitchforks and push brooms, crates of vegetables and bales of hay. For all the included tools though, they provide only two human figures and two horses. I suppose this is realistic given the space allotted for tack and boarding; more horses and your stall would be quite crowded. The only quibble is that the two mounted jockeys, one male and one female, are in fixed poses. They are made to ride the horses, not push the brooms. There is also a lack of stablehands to do the chores, so you’ll have to furnish your own.Overall the positives FAR outweigh the negatives here, especially if this set is being added to an existing collection of farm animals and barn sets.

Super cute farm play set
I got this set to give as an award to a child in a Walk/Trot class at my club’s horse show. It was a winner!My only disappointment is that it didn’t include a case, so I told them to make sure they save the box. The pieces come individually wrapped and while there are no instructions, you can easily assemble it by looking at the photos on the box.An adult will have to help with putting together the paddock because it takes a bit of strength to push the pieces together. Other than that, it’s totally kid friendly.This is a great gift for kids that are around horses and the little girl that received this set was absolutely thrilled. She was about 4-5 years old, so definitely in her wheelhouse. She was riding English, so the English saddle and jumps are things she is familiar with. And I love that the riders are wearing helmets because we require those for all minors on the show grounds if they are mounted or handling a horse. I was surprised that there were TWO horses and riders as most sets have only one. There are enough jumps to set up a short jump course. And it comes with all the tools you need to pick up after your horse.Great gift that made a little girl’s day (and my day, too).

Great Bang for Your Buck
I don’t know if anyone can be obsessed with horses as much as my daughter. I have lost count of how many toy horses we have around our house. It’s all she ever asks for. So… we have a lot (and I mean a lot) of horse and farm sets. A lot of them! The good news is that this makes me quite the expert on these little toy sets and can tell you just how well this set measures up to all the rest.One of my favorite features of this set is that there are so many fence pieces! Other sets typically include a max of six fence pieces, which barely allows you to build an enclosure that the horses can squeeze into. It’s as if the fence were an afterthought. This set allows you to build a huge fenced-in area. You can fit everything into the arena. It’s great. It includes so many different features that don’t always come all together in other sets as well. Between the jump, stall, gate, horses, riders, and accessories, there are quite a few pieces. There is a lot of attention to detail, as well, and the two riders fit perfectly on top of the horses.The cons with this set is that it feels pretty lightweight. Of all the sets we’ve purchased, this one has the cheapest material. But that’s my only real criticism. If you’re looking for a set that has a lot of pieces (including fences!) and will give you the most bang for your buck, don’t worry about getting the heavy-duty sets. Get this one! It’s got it all.
