This works great. Seems to be holding up well. It comes with a extra sponge fliter that is smashed on the core of it with the other sping filter. Just take it off & it regains its shape. It comes with filter media but if you don’t like it you can remove or it changed.Seems worth the money.

Interesting filter
So I like that it’s like a normal sponge filter but also has a bio media compartment. I got the smallest one for a 5 gallon tank and it’s definitely too big but I’ll hide it with plants and eventually it will be grown in enough to not need a filter. My biggest complaint is it likes to float. Like a lot. You’re going to have to shake it and squeeze it a few times before it will stay down. I wish the base was heavier. I’m also not sure yet because I haven’t maintained to but I think you have to remove the air line to get the sponge off. Other brands have an ez clean system… Just checked and it’s a pain to clean but it isn’t that bad but the downstem that pulls out feels very cheap and was difficult to get back on. However with the other positives and sleek look I think it’s a good trade off. I’d say the small one has a sweet spot for a 10-15 gallon tank. It’s definitely a bit too big for a 5 but the flow isn’t too bad and the bubbles come out small enough it’s good for the beta I want. I do recommend it but again probably best for a larger system then I have.

This sponge filter works well. I love the extra media, and I was going to love the built in air stone. The bubbles are larger than I like for my tanks, honestly doesnât even seem like thereâs an air stone in there. Iâll probably just add one. Also it floats a lot when you first put it in. The picture of it floating is after it had been running in the tank for a full day. Iâve had to squeeze the air out of it 4 times, itâs only the second day so I might have to more idk. We will see. I have had better sponge filters, but Iâll give this one a chance. Cleans the tank up well

I absolutely love this filtration. It works great, size is great, filters great, the way it was built is just great! It eliminates a crowded looking tank. It’s super easy to set up, easy to use. Cleaning this thing is super easy as well. 100% recommend! Only thing is you may need to buy your own air pump, I can’t remember clearly if it did or not come with one. Other than that this thing is phenomenal! ðð

Do not waste your money
I love this brand and liked the way these looked. Silly me, I should have known better. The tubes on the other sponge filters are needed to strengthen the pull of water through the filter. This looks more contemporary, but at the cost of effectiveness. Also, it kept popping apart in places that were difficult to get to to reconnect everything. Extremely frustrating design, not well made, not designed by someone who is actually using these. Theyâre awful. I spent $20 on these and I could kick myself. They are in the trash now. I only kept the small media material, thatâs it. Stay away from these.

Added this to replace my bubbler in my 29g and it immediately got the debris that my hangback filter missed. 10/10 recommend. Itâs super easy to put together and itâs good quality. Itâs also silent!Update: Iâve gotten another for my other tank. It also works fantastically!

Itâs sponge, itâs filter, no complaints. Having a slot underneath the sponge for bio filtration media is nice.
