Customers say
Customers find this dog toy fun to play with, particularly enjoying tug-of-war and fetch games, and consider it worth the money. The ball receives positive feedback for its quality, with one customer noting it’s perfect for energetic dogs. The durability and chewability receive mixed reviews – while the ball is indestructible for fetch, the rope portion doesn’t hold up well, and it’s not recommended for aggressive chewers. The size also gets mixed reactions, with some finding it perfectly large while others say it’s too big for their dogs.

Great toy. Will buy again and again.
Dog loves this toy. She plays with it every day. String has even held up to daily use.I just wish it was heavier to wear out the dog.Recommend to dogs that love to play.

Boxer and Newfi Approved! Great to hang!
This Romp and Rope Jolly Ball is awesome! I have a Boxer Jak who is a Ball nut, and a Newfoundland Bodhi, who is extremely pesty and gets bored easily. I am always looking for ways to keep Bodhi busy. I call this Romp and Rope Jolly Ball my Newfi Babysitter because it keeps him busy and occupied. Jak loves it also. There’s several different kinds of the Jolly Balls. I have two of the Romp and Rope that has the rope right through the center. They are made of extremely hard plastic and have no air. I also have a Romp and Roll, it too is made out of the hard plastic but has no rope. After seeing the idea on Facebook, I decided to tie the rope ball up in our tree like a tether ball and it is the most used toy that we have! Bodhi and Jak absolutely love tugging and swinging that ball around. The other Romp and Roll without the rope just sits out in the yard. I keep all of their Jolly Balls outside because they are made out of that hard plastic and could do some damage if played with indoors. They also have the Romp and Bounce ball, which is made out of softer plastic or rubber and that one does have air inside. I definitely recommend the Romp and Rope Jolly Ball for ball nuts or pesty dogs.Update April 2025:Any of the Jollyballs, but especially the Romp&Ropes, are by far the FAVORITE toy EVER of each one of my dogs. The 1st Jollyball that I ever purchased was the ball that I reviewed above, and that ball, although over 6yrs old, is still with us. These toys may have puncture marks, gouges, and tattered ropes, but they are still loved and still played with. Using it as a tether ball has been the biggest hit in my household and I did it for Jak in 2018, Bodhi in 2020, and now JJ in 2023. I lost my precious Jak in 2022, but just the thought of Jak and his beloved Jollyball, gives me such happiness. My Newfoundland Bodhi absolutely adored his tethered Jollyball and would play by himself out in the yard all day if I had let him. When we lost sweet Jak, my Newfi was so devastated that he literally stopped playing with all of his toys, including his Jollyball, until this very day. Not being able to cope with life without a Boxer boy at my side, I brought home JJ home in Oct 2022. In the spring I tethered his very own Jollyball to a big maple and he was off to the races. I haven’t not met one dog to ever not adore a Jollyball. It withstands a neverending amount of aggressive play, it occupies every age, and they never get tired of it. If you don’t believe me, try it out on your bestie and you will be the “cool” Mom amongst all of your own dog’s buddies. 😉

FINALLY A TOY THAT LASTS!
My dogs are notorious for breaking toys – I’ve been trying for years at this point to find them SOMETHING that works for both of them, their style of play, and will last. Finally found one! It has been a while since I purchased this item, and, it still is going strong. The plastic is strong – standing up against Minnie’s biting, the rope is still in great condition despite Rugor’s attempts to chew. It still has a great bounce, and goes far. While it isn’t really a “cute” toy, seeing them play with this thing is immensely so. I would highly recommend if you have some rough pups who love to fetch and play.

Not for aggressive/power chewers
I bought this (and the soccer ball, also reviewed) knowing that my dog was not the ârightâ user. She is a 3yr old pittie that is very aggressive, considered a power chewer. I knew this product wouldnât last long but, I was curious that the ball would be better for play than the soccer ball. The rope was shred within a couple mins and the then the ball (I bought light blue) got a nice big rip by one of the holes in under 3 mins.I kept the ball bc with 100% supervision we can still play fetch and monkey in the middle. It tires her out and bc it is sturdy, she can hit it with her paws while running and then chase it even more. This isnât a toy for any dog that has a powerful bite and enjoys gnawing to destroy toys.

Great toy!
We have a 50lb Shar-Pei mix and a 65lb Catahoula mix, both are in love with this ball! I got the 8″ and was bigger than I thought it would be, which is perfectly fine (it’s about the size of a soccer ball) and because of the size I know the ball will last for a very long time, as they won’t be able to fit it in their mouths to chew it up.The only problem I have is the rope. They were given the ball yesterday right after it was delivered and after an hour or so of play our Shar-Pei (who is a master chewer) was starting to cut through the rope. Because of his chewing, most toys (including this one) are outside only (he not only chews up the toys, but will also eat them if given the chance) I thought the rope would hold up longer being that it is limited play outside, but alas, the rope will be sawed through by the end of the week I’m sure. I knotted the rope against the ball to try and make it last a bit longer, (they won’t want anything to do with it if they can’t pick it up) As the toy isn’t cheep, and they love it so much, I’m hoping I can find the rope they use for dog toys so I can just replace it.Over all it’s a big hit! However because of the rope issue we are going to get the jolly ball with the handle next time and see how they like that one………………………………………………………………………………………………………………UPDATE – 2 Months After Purchase:OK so we have had the Jolly for about 2 months now and I thought I’d do an update. The rope has actually held up FAR better than I had expected it to. I have not had to replace the rope, and it is still mostly intact. Two months of tug has it very beat up tho. The ball itself still looks almost new. We were so extremely pleased with this toy we just got a second one. I knotted the rope one the new one like it did with the first, so that there is a knot tight against each side of the ball) as I think that really is helping to extend the life of the rope some. One word of advise tho (we learned the hard way) if you live down south like we do, and have fire ants…DO NOT leave this toy in the yard over night!!! Luckily, I had spotted it before the dogs went to play that morning, in one night a bunch of fire ants had nested inside the ball. It took about 3 days of submerging the ball in water to flush them all out (I think they were gone after 2 days but I wanted to be positive every last one was out before they played with it again).

She loves it!Pup is 6y, 65 lbs. she carries it by the rope or by the ball. Love toss and fetch, whips it around like sheâs killing it. Has loads of fun. I know sheâs punctured the ball, but itâs holding a round shape when she not biting it.Will probably get another for the cabin/summer.

First toy that has lasted longer than 5 minutes with my Weimaraner. She loves balls but usually chews to bits within a short time. It’s not a solid ball and large so she can’t get her mouth around it. Loves playing fetch with this….in fact I can’t get her into the house to eat since getting this toy just over a week ago! Great price too and super fast delivery.
