Clean and Tidy water cup and birdbath
Ordered the small and medium size. Love the ease of use for our lovebirds! As you can see in the video the Lovebirds took a bath with it the first day and every day since! Very entertaining to the birdies and their family! The medium size is the best size for Lovebirds! Small size works just for drinks or food. My favorite thing about these cups are the plastic coverings that keep the poo out.Easy to change the water out, too. Great price, as well! Thanks!

Good, but not the perfect solution to my problem.
In addition to the metal bowls that came with the cage, my electus parrot, Zazu, needs a water dispenser that will prevent her from contaminating her water when she puts her food into her water bowl. I had the perfect water dispenser for her, until the spout got broken. It was a plastic bottle that had a very strong plastic mounting on the outside of the cage. The bottle had a flat side and was also mounted outside of the cage with only the drinking spout sticking inside the bars. That way I could easily remove the bottle to refill or clean it. I have searched all over for a replacement, with no success.Every other water bottle I tried did not work, because they were held onto the bars with a metal clip, which Zazu detaches instantly, knocking the bottle to the floor. I like the JW clean cup because of the outside mounting system, which so far the bird has not been able to remove. I bought two, one for food and one for water. However, it is impossible for me to remove the cup as long as Zazu is in the cage, because she tries to bite me every time I put my hand inside the cage.On the other hand, she absolutely adores my husband, and wouldn’t dream of biting him. So I have to wait until he comes home so he can take her out of the cage and perch her on his shoulder while I remove and refill the cups. I am also still using the metal bowls, which attach to little doors which swing out from the cage for removal.So … I will keep looking for a water dispenser for Zazu that can be mounted completely outside her cage so that I can refill and clean it while she is still in her cage.

Great design but not durable
I was super excited about this feeder because of the design. It looked promising, but it failed me in one way. The plastic knob and bolt is very delicate and weak. I installed this primarily to use as a water cup since my bird poops into everything without a lid. This cup has a lid which offers protection and it does its job very well. During my time with this cup, not a single drop of poop fell into the water. Replacing the water was easy. You just twist the cup from the base and lift it up. Everything worked fine until today when I replaced the water. I was putting the cup back and put a minute amount of pressure on it and SNAP! The yellow plastic bolt cracked and now this is useless. This issue would be instantly solved if they used a metal bolt and not a plastic one. This thing only lasted two and a half weeks. I was being really gentle with this as well. I really loved the design, but they need to replace the plastic screw with a metal one. Will I buy this again? probably not. If you treat this like a wine glass, I’m sure it will last you more than it did me. Actually in order to prevent it from happening to you I suggest you use two hands. One to support the plastic base and another to twist the cup.

Our parakeet was making huge messes with her food and the water was always getting spilled. We bought one of these to try out for her water. It’s easy to twist and pull out the cup to fill and clean and it wasn’t spilling anymore so we ordered a second for the food. Now her crazy seed-flinging ways (she’s fussy and tosses the seeds she doesn’t want to eat) don’t create such a mess in her cage or on the floor around the cage. Bonus: it’s easy to install & works no matter which way the bars in the cage go. Price is almost half what we paid for the first one we bought at a local pet store.

You may need to apply a bit of oil to the locking mechanism of the water cup.Before purchasing this, my birds would occasionally poop in the water feeder, requiring me to be vigilant and change the water frequently. However, I no longer have this issue with the new feeder.

Be mindful when buying this dish, we woke up this morning to one of our ring neck doves drowned in the water, the doves had been using it for almost 2 years and this we couldn’t conceive happening, if you purchase these don’t use them, for water, we learned the hard way
