Customers say
Customers find the cat door aesthetically pleasing, saying it looks better than traditional cat doors, and appreciate its functionality for cat safety, with cats loving it. The installation process receives mixed feedback – while some find it relatively easy to install with clear instructions, others note it requires DIY skills. Moreover, the sturdiness and door closure are mixed aspects, with some finding it sturdy for hollow doors while others describe it as flimsy, and some report the door won’t close all the way. Additionally, the lockability is a concern as the locking mechanism won’t work properly, and customers disagree on whether it’s worth the price.

I love it. My cats love it. Solved all our problems. Probably the best cat door in existence.
We wanted a classy option to allow our cats in & our of our bedroom where there food is kept. Most of the options we saw were cheesy or tackey. Until I found this!Passage: Both of my cats fit easily through the passageway. One of them is a little on the heavy side, but he has no problems. Plus, I didn’t have to teach them to push a flap with their noses. Very large cats might squeeze through just a little. However, that could be easily solved by adjusting where the original cut is made. The open flap is supported by velcro (provided) & although I’m not a fan, it works well. Cutting a larger portion of the door shouldn’t have an effect on the hinge, but you might need to fasten the open flap with more than 1 square of velcro.Sound: My mother in law lives with us & enjoys watching TV late at night, very loudly, in the living room next to our bedroom. When closed, this keeps the sound barrier as if there’s no cat door at all. Plus I don’t have to hear a plastic flap swinging everytime they come & go.Installation: Easy project for someone with minimal skills. Getting the screws perfectly flush with the hinge is hugely important for functionality. I was very nervous (mainly because I cut the top of my first door by mistake & had to buy another door) but the YouTube video & written instructions were enough to successfully guide me. Also, the hinge has multiple screw holes to chose from, so you don’t have to worry about what the internal configuration of your door looks like. One of the combinations of options is bound to work for you. The seam is visible while the flap is closed on the outside, but I suspect a bit of white paint will make it almost invisible.Sturdiness: Considering I have the hinge supported by only 4 screws (they provided 6 & I could have chose to use all of them) I’m very happy with it. We don’t have kids that will be pulling on it or slamming the door. There’s no reason it won’t last for years.IMPORTANT: I have a solid-core door. I don’t know if this will work with a hollow door. Also, when installing the flap portion of the door you must alight the top/edge cuts. Do not center the flap to the raw edge of the door. Upper edge of the door should align with the upper edge of the flapDon’t forget to use a spacer while marking holes for the flap. You have to account for the hinge itself & you can’t mark your holes while the flap is sitting flat on the door. All of that was shown in the video, but not stated out loud.Overall, I could not have made a very choice. I’m thrilled.

A great solution for cat parents
Outstanding product, wish I had found it earlier. So I have two cats..need I say more. I’ve tried propping the door open with so many other devices, but once I began renting my spare room out, I knew I needed to find a better alternative so I could shut & lock my door. This corner was super easy to cut and install. Great directions, but tiny, so make YouTube your friend. The hardest part was taking the door off, but even that was so easy. Everything was done myself – the door is not heavy, simple to cut. One of my cats is a chunk…wondered if he’d make it thru – piece of cake for him. Now that the cats have mastered the go-thru, they play with each other thru the cutout. Cats be cattin. Great purchase. Mine was a ‘right side’ order

Good enough to order a 2nd for another door!
Cons:- It isn’t super strong. (Mitigated because I have no toddlers or “naughty” kids who might force it to cause damage to the special hinge)- It does look odd when closed. (Mitigated because we almost always keep it open and our house is far from beautiful anyway)- It takes some DIY skills to install it and make small adjustments to be fully usesble. (Mitigated because I have those skills and can find the time to do it)Pros:- It locks the cat into the room when we have allergic guests- It locks the cat out of the room when we don’t want the cat bothering us in bed.- The cat gets a safe haven from the medium-sized dog.- Family members with different sleep schedules can slumber in peace. How? The person sleeping with the door closed is not awakened by a cat desperately trying to go inout (door scratching, carpet peeling, things being knocked off shelves, etc.) Yet, the light and sounds from the awake people it’s reduced by the closed door.Overall, it works well for me as designed! My teen decided he likes the idea for his room, too. So, I have no hesitations about ordering another one.

I did not want this – did not want to cut a corner off a door
We’ve had cat doors for rooms in our houses for years – I’ve installed them most times, and paid a carpenter once to add one- always between the garage and the house. This one my wife wanted on our bedroom door so the needy cats could come and go without the hallway light or noise bothering her. I was hugely skeptical, and thought the hinge was a piano hinge. When the box came, I had an issue wondering where the corner of the door was. It was just a hinge ! Then my common sense kicked in, while I remained a skeptic. Cut the door, using painter’s tape as suggested and installed this. I think including taking down the door and rehanging, it took 20 min. Works perfect, its clean, and I’ll add photos if the app lets me. It looks great, mama is happy, our 2 cats are happy, and thats all it takes for me to be happy. Neat idea, easily executed. Neat, clean and better than expected by far. Well done.

Great idea, hinges not locking in place
When I saw these I thought this would be the perfect solution to having our bedroom door open at night. I watched all of the videos and followed the instructions exactly. I will say that Iâm a pretty seasoned DIYer for home improvements. So I dove in and cut my bedroom and laundry room doors. The install was pretty simple, but a few things to note:1. Watch the video: using tape under the guide was helpful in keeping a clean cut.2. I had hollow doors, but it still fit. However, the screws were a bit too long and came out the other side of the cut piece.3. The locking hinge is supposed to keep it open, but that only locked in place on 1 of my 2 installed. Even then it wasnât strong enough.4. The Velcro isnât really thick enough to hold the cut piece in place if the locking hinge doesnât work. After all of that, I had already cut the doors and installed them, so I was determined to make them work. Some Command Strips attached to some strong magnets was my solution. I figure Iâll be keeping it in the open position most of the time anyway.

This is a perfect compromise instead of leaving my whole door open a crack for my cat. He can come and go as he pleases and if he’s being a bit too much, I just shut the corner closed. win-win!
