An All Time Favorite With All My Pet Parrots For Over 10 Years
My pet parrots have enjoyed the Lafeber Nutri-Berries for well over 10 years, and this nutritious treat is a staple part of their diet. Furthermore, within that time I have been a member of 3 different avian rescue programs. This has often entailed fostering displaced parrots while waiting for a âforeverâ home. The nutri-berries were widely accepted by every parrot that was in my care, even though in the beginning they would sometimes refused to eat other food and seed. They have four favorites, and I rotate the different flavors. Although some prefer one or two flavors as their number one preference, none of them have ever refused to eat any of the selected four when placed in their food dish. I have not found anything better in nutrition or the convenient bird-friendly fun shape thatâs so easy for them to hold in their feet. Some of the Many Benefits of Nutri-berries:1. Nutri-berries are 100% eatable, there are no seed husks, and therefore there is no waste.2. Most of the seed and grains are NOT ground up, which provides better nutrition.3. There are NO artificial flavors or colors, therefore the orange pieces are real papaya and the yellow are pieces of real pineapple and NOT something artificial that may look or smell like fruit.4. Nutri-berries contain the nutrition found in pellets, and since my birds refuse to eat pellets, this alternative is ideal to supplement with their cooked and fresh veggies, along with their daily ration of seed.5. Most of my parrots like to hold and eat the nutri-berries in the claws of their feet and therefore these are convenient and easy to hold round shapes.6. Ready to serve right out of the package, and therefore no other preparation is necessary.Serving Suggestions:Although the nutri-berries are ready to eat directly from the package, I use a variety of methods, just to keep things interesting.1. Sometimes I serve these nutri-berries as an evening treat in a separate food dish, from their nightly seed ration. Each parrot receives 3 nutri-berries along with a whole walnut still in the shell that I separate into 2 halves. As an alternative, I may substitute an almond instead of a walnut and then add a slice of apple, a large juicy grape, and/or a whole fresh baby carrot. This is only their evening snack and different from their fresh food morning meal. However, this keeps them quiet and content as I finish my evening round with fresh water and a quick vacuum to clean the seeds from the floor.2. In addition, I use the nutri-berries in my own âbirdie trail mixâ. I mix 1 Cup of Nutri-berries with 1 cup of organic and whole grain breakfast cereal that has NO added sweeteners, such as Shredded Wheat, Wheat Chex, Rice Chex or Cheerios. Then Iâll add 1 Cup of raw, unsalted, and unroasted variety of nuts. My last addition is 1 Cup of chopped and dried fruit, and I mix these wholesome ingredients together and give each of my parrots a ¼ cup serving. This presents a tasty and nutritious snack thatâs filled with different, colors, tastes, and textures and has always been a major success.Sometimes at the end of the bag are small broken pieces and the crumbles from the berries, but I have a use for these too. These I save to pour over their morning cooked and fresh veggies, as a nutritious topping that adds an unexpected crunchy texture over their soft food.As an alternative use, my few canaries relish any crumbled pieces and I put these pieces in a small treat dish that I hang inside their cage bars. Therefore I donât experience any waste as all, my birds love the nutri-berries no matter whether served as whole nuggets or the broken pieces and crumbles at the end of the bag.The Tropical Fruit Nutri-Berries came in perfect condition. The berry nuggets are whole and they were not stuck together, and came without the usual broken pieces and crumbles at the end of the bag. Even when bought right off the shelf and locally from a bird food and supply store, the nutri-berries were not as fresh as the delivery from this vendor.

Been Using for Many Years.
My 28 year old African Gray has been eating these mixed with his seed meal for many years. He even digs these out first. He is still active, happy and asks for his “treats” by name.

Expensive but worth the price
They’re expensive but my parrot seems to like them and he eats them almost everyday.

wonderful bird food
Top notch product. all my bird’s love this and never get tired of eating it. I buy it in bulk because I go through so much and it is more cost effective. I am a avian veterinarian so you can trust my advice. your bird’s will love it too I promise. It does crumble a little during shipping and handling. What you can do is take the tiny pieces and add peanut butter, honey, almonds, walnuts, rasins and mix it up and put it in baking pan.then flatten it out even and freeze for a while and then cut into squares and feed as a treat. Your birds will love you for it. When I run out my bird chases me around and pecks my feet when I go to the food pantry to get them food. I keep the nutriberries in the freezer or put it in huge dog food plastic pour spout containers to keep it dry and fresh.do not leave out in the open or it gets mushy after it gets too warm. feel free to contact me to ask questions.

My parrots love these!
We have a picky parrot that doesn’t eat much seed but absolutely loves these! We put 3-4 in his treat bowl daily along with other snacks. These are his go to snacks.

Nutri berries
My vet recommended nutri berries for my 30yo ringneck parrot. He was so underweight and came from a horrible situation. He loves these! Actually all my birds love these! I highly recommend them for birds!

My parrot loves these and they keep him occupied and quiet for awhile
My Senegal has always loved these and I love that I can order them and don’t have to drive out to the suburbs to a big box pet store to find them. They’re also cheaper here. I give these to him daily as part of his diet, including fresh fruits and veggies and nuts. These are great because he can grab one, take it to a higher part of his cage or play gym, and then spend time eating it. I don’t know why he likes to be higher when he eats, but that’s his thing. I like that these are bigger than other treats because they’re easy for him to grab on to and it takes awhile for him to eat so that means he’s quiet and happy — and I’m happy. On a side note, my dog also loves them. Sometimes, the bird will perch on the edge of his play gym, just out of reach of my chihuahua and eat this while the dog looks up … waiting. When the bird is done with it, he drops the last bit down to the dog and the dog happily gobbles it up. Since it’s safe for both of them (no grapes), it’s fine. It gives the bird a chance to tease the dog, which he totally loves to do.I try to give thorough and honest reviews that help others decide whether or not a product will work for them. If you have found my review helpful, please vote yes. Thanks!

Have reordered this, fast delivery as usual. Lasts me for 2 months as I give my parrot 6-7 berries a day, she even recognizes the bag 🙂

This stuff is great but really rather expensive! I like to feed it to my quaker parrot but wish that the cost was a little lower…
