Great box once you get it assembled
This is pretty slick! I’m pleased with my purchase.I’ll admit that when I unboxed it, I groaned. You have to peel a backing off both sides of each piece. With the first one, I pealed against the slots and the backing tore many times. By the time I got to the last piece I found I was getting pretty quick at it. It’s not bad if you go slow and pull in the direction of the slots. You can use a sharp knife to start peeling at a corner. The instructions are pretty good. If you find that the pieces aren’t meeting up correctly, you’ve got a piece backwards. You’ll know it’s right while all the pieces flit properly without gaps. The screws concerned me, but worked well. They go in easy and you just don’t need to make them super tight. The magnets are STRONG. I’m using it on an acrylic aquarium. The back of the tank is 3/16″ thick and that box isn’t going anywhere. One thing to note is that the inserts that you use to attach the bottom are different sizes. The longer one goes in back.

Very Good container for fishes.
Product exactly as shown, and the magnets are very strong and I was more afraid of cracking the aquarium glass (20 gallon) if I let it go and it snapped back to the box. Some say the plastic is cheap but I think it’s good overall if you only going to keep fish. Not sure how it would hold up for coral frags and heavier objects in it. It’s expensive but worth it for fishes. Just don’t over tighten the screws as everything is plastic.Good seller too.

Very poor quality made from cheap plastic
I read a number of reviews prior to purchasing this that highlighted the difficulties of putting it together and I thought “these are probably individuals that don’t know how to build things” but I can tell you that is not the case. The product is made of very cheap plastic (including the screws that strip out easily) and are designed to fit together with tabs and cutouts that in theory fit together like a puzzle-sadly that is not the case. I spent about an hour building it and have reviewed the simple directions multiple times to insure it has been built to the manufacturers specifications but the pieces simply do not fit together properly and because of this there is no structure or sturdiness to the product. I am debating if I want to put it in my tank to acclimate fish, my concern is that if a curious fish comes to check out the new comer and hits the side of the box it may fall apart and allow the new fish to swim freely in the rest of the aquarium, obviously defeating the purpose of the acclimation box. My other concern is that the all sides except the front are made of a milky white plastic that I question if the other fish would even be able to see through, again defeating the purpose of allowing the existing fish to acclimate to the new comer. I regret the purchase and wish I had opted for a higher end unit to start with.

Great Product!
I am pleasantly surprised by the quality and sturdiness of this product. Given some of the reviews, I was hesitant on trying this. I am glad I did try it!Pro’s – Goes together nicely, is well protected in shipping, very sturdy when put together as shown in the directions, and strong magnets that do well with the 1/2″ glass on my 90-gallon reef tank. It does require patience to slowly peel all the protective material off of all the main parts. It took me about 15 minutes to do so. Surprisingly I appreciate the protective material and think it is worth the effort for what you get.Cons – I don’t have any.Tips – The direction of the tabs on the side panels does matter for ease of assembly and sturdiness when everything is secured. The small Philips screws require a #1 screwdriver or bit size and not the standard #2 size. This is important to ensure a solid and firm connection between the screwdriver and the screw. I found barely tightening the screw, more of slight pressure after it initially goes snug, worked well.

It’s ok but not sturdy and week magnets
I have used this box to acclimate several fish now. It works but I would not buy again. I found the box construction very flimsy. It’s only had a couple of fasteners and falls apart quit easily. The magnets are weak as well and barly held on my 120 gallon tank. The box is big so I personally would not use it on a much smaller Aquarium. Point being a box of this size should have more powerful magnets. The only good thing I can say is the acrylic is nice quality.

Works great, but could use a better design.
I love the box. It was simple to assemble, looks great, is functional, and I have been able to use them as a acclimation chamber for a fish, some anemones, and mushrooms. The bad thing about this is the magnet. The magnet will hold it, but it really needs two. Unless you put this at the bottom of the tank, the chamber wants to âturnâ. If there is flow, or weight on one side it will lean that direction and âtiltâ if it had two magnets on opposite sides it would be much better. It also has the magnet attached to the outside wall of the back wall. Making it sit off the wall about a 1/4 to 1/2 inch, but again, making it kinda unstable at times. It needs something like pegs at the bottom to help hold it off the wall some.Again, the magnet holds, but not really.I have the chamber in my 10 inch deep frag tank and have been just letting it sit in the bottom of the tank. The lid has kept everything in it I have needed. Itâs hinged but no latch. Could also use a latch I think, especially if you have to put it at the bottom as it would make it harder for someone to escape.Would still recommend as it is functional, but if you have a deep tank, look for one that hangs off the rim or something. This one is just not quite there yet. Great idea, decent design, but could use some improvements. Still worth 4 stars in my opinion.

Probably the best I’ve used, but…
Really sturdy product and the magnets are extremely strong. I bought two and am glad I did. My complaint is getting the plastic off of each piece. I could have assembled a couple of IKEA nightstands in the time it took me to peal off protective plastic from each side. Maybe include a tab on the plastic in the future. Otherwise… well worth the cash.

When I put it together I had to use twist ties so it would stay together firmly. It did come with little screws however they are soft plastic and broke. Not all only two so I couldnât put the top on. For the price you pay I would expect this to feel like itâs not going to fall apart when it was completely assembled. I would have returned it but that cost way to much to send it back. So after enforced with twist ties itâs much more secure.
