The Medium Hoofjack will accommodate a pony up to a small draft or draft cross (hooves up to a size 7).). If your horse is unshod and you are uncertain of its shoe size, measure across the widest part of the hoof. If the hoof is less than 7 3/4″ you will want to order the Medium or Standard Hoofjack. The Medium Hoofjack consists of one medium base with two magnets, one medium cradle, and one medium straight post with standard rubber cap. Ideal for: smaller ponies (under 12 hands), or the user who is under 5’10” so it will align better with their knee and cradle enabling a more ergonomic fit. The medium base is made of linear polyethylene, is 9″ in height and has a base diameter of 18″. Overall height adjustment is 11″ – 19″. Two strong 90 lb. pull magnets are included. The base material comes with a three year warranty against horse breakage. The Hoofjack can be used to support the hoof for daily care, treatment, bandaging, and more. Eliminates the need to put the hoof between your knees or support the horses weight with your body; take your mind off your back and knees and put it back into your work… This is the solution for the leaning horse – let the horse lean on the stand and not on you. Allows the horse to stand in an anatomically correct and comfortable position; a comfortable horse will be more compliant making your job easier and safer. The cradle and straight post can be used on both the front and hind feet meaning you never have to support the weight of the horse with your hands or your body again Use the straight post for clipping or applying hoof polish Apply and remove studs with ease. This is the same stand my professional farrier uses.
I purchased this farrier stand so that I could trim my daughter’s horses in between farrier visits. I did get the shorter stand because I’m a lot shorter than my farrier. It works great and takes a lot of strain off your back. The horses like it too because it gives them sturdy support.

Saves your back.
I had no intention of buying a hoof jack, but then somehow I got older. And with a bad back, it got harder and harder to lift and hold the hooves of two very stubborn donkeys. This hoof jack has really made it possible for me to clean hooves between farrier visits. If I were 50 years younger, I probably wouldnât even need the farrier! Great tool and I know it helps me keep my donkeys hooves healthier.

Makes trimming and hoof care much easier
Really helps when trimming my small horse. He has trouble holding his one hind leg for long, but he is willing to let it rest in the sling. Much easier on my body. The adjustable height is helpful. It is very stable and the magnet is useful for holding my rasp when not in use.
