It does help!
I didn’t have high expectations for this copper disc, but I did some research before I purchased and for the price, it was worth a try. It works! My birdbath was so slimy and grungy, I was cleaning it every day. This really does keep the slime down to a minimum to where I can just rinse it out and fill with fresh water. It still needs a deep clean at least once a week but to my surprise, it does help a lot.

Convenient
Easy to install, just peel of the protective coating and put them in your Birdbath. Copper helps water, which is a good reason to use these Copper Disks.

Very impressed! They work better than I could have hoped.
I was impressed by how well these work! They GREATLY reduce the scum in my birdbath and saves me from emptying/cleaning them every 3 days to at least 5 days.

It’s copper, it works
Nice way to help keep the birdbath or small fountain a bit cleaner. Looks nice and is well made. Taking off a star only because the edge is a bit sharp and I could see getting cut if you are handling it roughly. Nothing crazy, but it looks like an unfinished edge.

A simple, elegant way to add safety for wild creatures
I have a short piece of copper pipe in the trough of our evaporative cooler to help keep the water free of algae and bacteria when it’s sitting idle. But, it never occurred to me to do something like that with our winter bird bath until I saw this disk among the items I could try from the Amazon Vine program.I like that it is small enough to fit into the bird bath without interfering with deicer/heater we have in our birdbath. It’s about as thick as a U.S. One Cent coin; and has 3 small dimples for feet that are as high as it is thick. The feet make it possible for nearly all of the surface to make contact with the water. There are no instructions with it; so this is what you need to know.(1) Leave it alone while in use. Don’t polish it with chemical polishes.(2) The chemical reaction from the water is what makes it work.(3) It will change color as part of that process.(4) DO; wash it with soap and water when you clean the bird bath.(5) When the disk is completely discolored; soak it in over night vinegar to clean it.(6) Optional polishing can be done with a mix of lemon juice and table salt.(7) Keep other objects off of it,(8) It will help keep the water pure; but you’ll still need to clean, and replace water in the bath to keep your bath safe for the wildlife.Pretty simple, and looks nice too.

Well made and pretty in the bird bath!
I’ve never heard of copper keeping water clean, but it is an interesting concept. It’s just a few inches wide, but it adds a decorative glow to the bottom of my bird bath. It is too soon to see if it helps, but I will be back to update as the weather warms up. So far, I can say it is a beautiful piece. It also has little bumps on the bottom so that it doesn’t fit totally flush on the bottom, allowing water to just barely flow under. I have a bad mosquito problem mid summer, so I will be looking out to see if it might help with that as well.

Your mileage may vary…
I had hopes for this, but was kind of skeptical, so I did a test. 2 bowls of water, one with the disk, one without. Sitting outside next to each other for over a week. I didn’t see any algae build up in either bowl. So for me, I can’t say that it does anything. I don’t think it hurts anything either…
