tall 32″ pole for kitty to get a good stretch and scratch on, easy to put together, sturdy
Very good size and weight. Reasonable price at $20. I don’t often see the taller scratchers. Most are short (22″ or less) and that really isn’t enough for a cat to get a good stretching scratch. 30″ is my recommendation for scratchers, and this is 32″. While I wish the pole was a little thicker, the height and addition of toys makes up for it. Btw, I am reviewing the “classic” option. I hemmed and hawed between this and the one with the built in massager, but decided on the full scratcher option. Like other reviewers, I placed mine next to the couch. I sprinkled cat nip on it, and “played” with the scratcher myself to gain the curiosity of my skeptical cats. I think a thicker pole would have won them over quicker, but they do seem to like this. I have scratchers of all sorts (poles like this, floor scratchers, wall scratchers, scratchers attached to climbers, etc) all over my house, and because of this they pretty much leave the furniture alone.VERY easy to put together. Has good instructions, but really not needed. Two nice toys are attached, and the base is wide enough to sit on. I have chonky cats.We’re all pleased

32 inch height is excellent for kitty to reach up for a good stretch & scratch!
All of my own kitties and the fosters love these sisal scratching posts. To give you an idea about durability, for an average of 4-6 cats using one post daily for six months there is still good use-life remaining, although it definitely shows plenty of wear & tear. I have purchased at least 3 or more of these posts now. I would guess that one post would have an “average use life by one cat” for at least one year — longer use if your cat does not heavily scratch more than once a day. The sisal covering has so far remained attached to the post rather than coming loose at the top and the whole post quickly unraveling as some other ones do that I’ve purchased. The square (wood-material covered by thin carpet) base is heavy enough to keep the post upright when being used by cats up to least 12 pounds. Although it does get moved around a bit (I do not have the post on carpeted floor). Only the younger kittens have played with any of the attached toys that come with the post but they also don’t get in the way of the purpose of being an efficiently-sized scratch post. My living area is small (about 220 square feet including kitchen) and these posts are beloved by the cats but appreciated by me for their compact footprint and good value at purchase price of $20 on sale up to about $25 that I’ve paid at different times. I would recommend for the use-life, height that cats like without being too small circumference, weighted base, and value. *Note: If you do not like to keep scratching posts around after they start to become shredded and raggedy (but before bare spots start to show), the use-life may be much shorter if you prefer the posts to look neat and tidy.

Adjustable Scratching Post with Toys
I ordered this when I was fostering a mother cat and her 5 kittens. The post comes apart in the center and has a toy attached to the top and one attached to the center. The kittens loved playing with the toy and it was tall enough for the mother cat to get a good stretch, too. This will grow with your cat from kitten to adult. I had no issues with it coming apart and it seemed to be very sturdy. The kittens liked to nap on the carpet base as well.

Good, but wish the sisal rope was applied better.
The sisal rope wasnât compact and tightly wound enough, so it started slipping where it wasnât fully glued down. There is a bare gap on the post now. Not a huge issue, but not the best.

I have purchased multiple times
I have four cats. They all use this post. It is tall enough for them to stretch out while scratching. They last about 9 months with four cats before the sisal starts unraveling. (8 months of daily use by four cats) For the money, these are excellent! Neutral so it doesnât stand out like a sore thumb amongst my decor. Simple to put together- takes 3-5 minutes. I buy this one over and over.

Perfect for cats
Very easy to assemble. Our cats love it. The size is great. It’s not too big, but tall enough for the cats to stretch and have plenty of area to scratch. Little toys attached are fun for them and have actually stayed attached for the month or so we’ve have it (other products, toys rip off easy). Happy with this purchase.

Okay, but maybe not designed for multiple cats
We purchased one at the beginning of October 2024 and it was great for the first couple of months. It has a nice wide base, and the toy is actually still attached, which is shocking. Our cats are also annoyed by the fact that the top isn’t wide enough for them to perch on it.Our cats have shredded the sisal rope and the post is almost completely unusable. We have scratching posts that have lasted for years, but this one barely survived 6 months.If you have one cat, this is probably fine. We have 5 cats, and this just didn’t have what it takes (we have three cat trees and two other posts, so this one wasn’t receiving all of their sole focus).

This scratching post is a perfect size and comes attached to a well balanced platform. My cat loves that she can stretch full out and really give it a good scratch!It is so important that the base is weighted and the proper size to keep the post in an stationary position while being used.

My cats like to stretch up high, when they use a scratching post, and the standard ones are simply too short. Took a gamble on this one and was quite pleased with it. It’s tall enough that they can stretch up high and scratch the post, and it does not fall over easily at all.
