Stopped our senior Yellow Lab’s excessive shedding and improved her coat tremendously!
We have a 13 yr old yellow lab female and we switched food this year to Fresh Pet from Canadae All Life Stages. We noticed that she started shedding in clumps of hair excessively and were not sure what the problem was. Our nephew told us about this product that was recommended by his Veterinarian in place of prescription options for his senior German Shepard. He said to expect to not see results for 4-5 weeks and he was absolutely dead on the money. The dog’s shed-out in clumps began to subside and now we are about 5 weeks into the oil and the dog’s coat is beautiful. Shiny, smooth, and healthy. We had no idea but this was a great fix!We have been putting all of the oil (1.5 measuring cups per day) into her breakfast but she’s gotten a little more picky and now we are dividing the oil evenly into her three meals a day. If hasn’t turned her into a puppy but housecleaning is a good bit easier for us as she was generating the equivalent of a sweater a week shedding. That’s now settled down and she is just shedding as normal – which for a lab is still heavy but her coat looks great and no more clumps of hair falling out.I did not rate pain relief because I didn’t buy this expecting to get pain relief for the dog and we’ve not noticed any change in her elderly joint pain and ability to come up stairs or hop on the couch – both of which she can do but limited.

This oil works for my dogs!
My three dogs coats are shiny and supple after using this product.I just squirt a little on their food once a day and within a week I could tell a difference. My dogs are young so I am glad I have started them on this product to help with health and well being for the years ahead. They love the taste. It is a little fishy but not bad and their breath does not smell.

allergy relief
Upon recommendation from our vet I purchase this product with hope of allergy relief for our one dog. After spending alot of money trying shots, creams, sprays, medications, etc. I purchased a bottle of Welactin from our vet. Our dog was having constant ear & skin conditions. Along with using medicated shampoo’s and welaction I have had no more problems with skin or ear allergys. Once the skin problems healed up I was able to stop using the prescription shampoo and stay on the Welactin only. At one time our dog had to wear a “cone” for 6 months due to chewing & scratching. It has been almost a year now since using this product & no more problems. Our dogs coat is thicker & softer now and buying through Amazon will save you half of what our vet. charges.

Recommended for my patients and used for my own dog.
As a veterinarian I recommend fish oil to all my patients with joint inflammation. I use this product for my own dog, a 70 lb shepherd/hound mix with left elbow arthritis and spinal arthritis. Within 4-5 weeks of starting this he has not needed any NSAID drugs and is very active and can walk and hike for hours. I use in conjunction with Dasaquin and will shortly be starting laser therapy sessions as well. Please note that dogs need a much higher dose per body weight than humans. There are human and dog versions of soft gels and liquids etc out there but you need to read the fine print and do a lot of math. I recommend googling CSU vet fish oil dosing chart. Find your dog’s weight in kg or lb and see the daily dose recommended. Please note that the two omega 3 fatty acids that are proven to have anti-inflammatory effects are DHA and EPA. It is their combined amount in mg (milligrams) per day that you are trying to determine. Now you have to take a look at your product’s ingredient list and see how many mg of each are in a serving. Then you can determine amount to give. My dog gets roughly 3.5 scoops of this liquid per day. When I had him on my “2100 mg soft gels” I had to give him a bunch every day as the bottle actually states that the total of EPA and DHA combined was 1500 mg and that was PER 2 SOFTGELS. So read things carefully.Always add oils into diets slowly/gradually. Many animals get soft or loose stool transiently. This usually will normalize but not all animals can process the additional oils.If using a human product, ensure that additives and other ingredients are not harmful by consulting with your veterinarian.

My vet recommended it. The product itself seems to work great …
My dog gets this in his food to help with his coat and dry skin. My vet recommended it. The product itself seems to work great and my dog doesn’t care at all that it’s in his food. My only complaint is that the cap breaks very easily and can become very messy. We have to keep it in a small tupper ware to keep the oil from getting everywhere.

Especially good for our Husky
Our Siberian Husky (like all Huskies) has an amazing coat. She sheds constantly and blows her coat at least twice a year, leaving clumps of hair everywhere. Last winter, she refused to come into the house most nights, preferring instead to sleep in the snow under the tool shed in the back yard. It is tough to keep her well groomed, and we tried many things before being told by a few other husky owners about Welactin. We tried it, and it has made her coat much more silken. Grooming her with our trusted FURminator deShed Tool Dog Lrg/Yellow Long Hair has become much less challenging!Wellactin is a combination of salmon oil, other cold water fish oils and essential fatty acids. Each dose contains 775 mgs of EPA, and 525 mgs of DHA. I am a big believer in Omega 3 acids and believe that it is effective for inflammation in her joints as well, though I can’t prove it. I use Wellactin and believe in it.

Vet recommended
My vet recommended that I start my dog on Welactin. I put it on his kibble and he thinks he’s getting something really special. His coat has been shiny and so soft since starting Welactin. He also has less dry skin.
