Fresh and Rabbits love then
Great quality as always. I recommend inspecting the bags/boxes, for any possible trash or dead animals. I found an animal foot in mine, but that doesnât change its quality and consistency. My rabbit love this brand.

Best hay ever
This is my guinea pigs favorite hay. Itâs expensive but so worth it. 90% of it is always super green and fresh which other brands are not even close. Also it doesnât have that bad hay smell and doesnât mess with my allergies.

Great value!
This is a big ol quantity of orchard grass for a great price. I love the convenience of it coming to my door, and the guinea pig is super happy about having the hay. Win-win!

9# bag is perfect and cheap!
This 9# bag is perfect for my two little ladies (guineas). It typically lasts me 1.5-2 months but it could last longer depending on your set-up. The 40oz ones Iâve bought only last me a week and a half or 2. Iâve noticed that the 9# bag also has longer strands rather than the chopped up little strands that are in the 40oz bag. There is a good amount of dust at the bottom of the bag so allergy folks beware. I like that the dust protects the bottom of the bag from getting hay pokes though. My piggies will only eat Oxbowâs orchard grass hay at this point. Iâd say they are a 10/10 fan. ð¾

8 out 10 boxes are perfect!
I have purchased this hay consecutively for 4 years now and specifically 16 times over the past year. I have 4 guinea pigs who plow through hay. This hay is tasty and wonderful, HOWEVER, statistically… 2 out of every 10 boxes I’ll order is crappy. In the “bad boxes” the hay will be super super dusty and short making it extremely messy/dusty to use and undesirable to the pigs. It seems those “bad boxes” are the bottom of their bin/harvest. I wish the company would quality control those “bottom barrel” scraps and not sell them because i end up throwing the box away almost immediately due to unhappy pigs, the dusty mess, and uselessness. I will continue to buy their product but it’s a gamble. Unfortunately my last box was a waste of $28 – I attached the photo of the “short hay” and notice the intense dust along the bag! Overall the product is worth the money, but don’t be shocked if you get a “bad box”

Inconsistent Quality
I have been on the regular subscription for the 9 lb orchard grass for a while. I agree with the review that 8 of 10 boxes are great. I received a box a few months ago that was half hay dust. It was the first bad box i got. The pieces were chopped up so fine that i had to sift through it for usable hay for my guinea pigs and had to get an extra box before my next ship date because so much got tossed. The next box was fine. But i just opened the most recent box and its garbage. I realize hay is a natural product and there can be “surprises” but the harvester clearly ran over some large woody plants that are certainly not hay. It is chopped up through the entire 9 pound box. Since this is , at the moment, what i have, i spent a fair amount of time picking through it almost strand by strand to remove what ever is in the box. It could not have been quality checked because it is quite a good amount of field debris of some sort.

Do not recommend the 25 lb boxes
I hate to write this because I love Oxbow products, but the 25 pound hay boxes are a huge disappointment and waste of money.I started with Timothy hay in the 25 pound size and was extremely disappointed with the quality. A lot of very long, yellow, hard stems in there as well as an unbelievable amount of dust and pieces too small to use. My guinea pigs weren’t eating as much of it and there was so much that was wasted. So I decided to try the Orchard with hopes it would be better. No luck. Very dry with a lot of yellow and brown pieces. I though the dust and tiny pieces may be better since Orchard is usually less dusty to begin with, but no, just as bad.My husband has developed extreme allergies to the hay in the larger sized boxes because of all the dust and small bits. My guinea pigs are sneezing more when they’re in their hay piles and again, not eating as much of it.I had hoped to save some money with the larger size boxes since I have a herd of 8 guinea pigs, but I guess I’ll have to go back to the 9 pound boxes. I never had an issue with any of those, great quality every time.

The best
I’m subscribed to this, my guinea pig loves this brand of hay , she gets really excited. I’ve tried other brands but she doesn’t like them.

Nos cobayes adorent ce foin 😀
Kidzou –
