Perfect brush for my Golden!
I bought the Paw Brothers Professional Grade Extra Long Slicker Brush for my golden retriever, and it has been a game-changer! The extra-long pins reach deep into his thick coat, making it easy to remove loose undercoat and tangles without causing discomfort. The ergonomic handle is comfortable to hold, even during long grooming sessions, and the brush does a fantastic job of keeping his fur looking smooth and healthy. Itâs durable, well-made, and way more effective than other brushes Iâve tried. If you have a long-haired or double-coated dog, this brush is a must-have! Highly recommend!

Gentle on skin yet truly brushed out mats
Iâm a retired professional pet groomer. I also love this brush at home. Iâve bought Ryanâs brushes for 20+ years because they are the best for fluffy hair -both cats and dogs. This works wonderfully to keep Doodles from getting too tangled. It pulls out winter coat from Shepards, Heelers, Labs, etc. I give them as gifts to friends with these types of pets, reminding them it works best with frequent use. I most treasure mine while blow drying a pet to straighten its hair before trimming. Dogs with more fragile skin such as Poodles, Bichons, Maltese, Lhasas, Shih Tzus, and elderly pets, need this soft tipped brush. Look carefully at the size before you order. Small are great for cats. XL is best for medium to large dogs. The extra cost is worth it! One of my brushes is 15+ years old and still great! *Hidden feature: try letting your cat rub its face against a clean brush. My cat now asks for this daily. I had to buy one more just for the little queen. Finally, she lets me brush her whole body without yelling. ð Thanks, Ryanâs, for the range of excellent products on your site: âRyanâs Pet Supply,â but also for making these brushes easier to get by listing on Amazon.

Perfect for Goldendoodle Grooming
Unfortunately, a lot of people get “doodle” breed dogs thinking that since they are low shedding that they are also low maintenance. That’s only true if you plan on having them come home from the groomer looking like a shaved rat. If you want a fluffy doodle that is tangle free with a long coat and healthy skin, you need to brush them out regularly, preferably daily. That requires specific tools including a steel comb and slicker brush. From my experience, most metal combs are pretty similar, but there is a BIG difference in slicker brushes out there on the market today. Trust me, I have over 6 different brands of slicker brush and 3 different metal combs. I also recommend some sort of grooming table, as it will save your back and be easier and safer for your dog. At this point I use the metal comb, this slicker brush, and my Chris Christensen slicker brush to maintain my dog’s coat daily between regular grooming (every 3-4 weeks). This brush is much stiffer than other slicker brushes I have. It’s perfect for areas like the legs, feet, and behind the tail where mats tend to form. If you go very slow and careful with the brushing and stay on top of the grooming, it’s a painless and enjoyable bonding experience for both you and your dog! After brushing out the problem areas with this stiff Paw Brothers slicker brush, I will comb over the area with my metal comb to make sure no tangles remain.Last, I use the Chris Christensen brush to finish up because it’s much softer and good for fluffing up the dog and making her look great. The Chris Christensen brush is too soft though to get out the underlying tangles in a very long coat though, which is why this Paw Brothers brush is so good.My only complaint, is that because the brush is so stiff, it’s a little difficult to get the hair out of it. On my Chris Christensen brush I can run my comb through it and vacuum it up to pick up the hair, but this one stays pretty messy. Not too big a deal for most people but I’m a little OCD and don’t like to leave hair everywhere. When I first brought home my Goldendoodle, I had already done all the research and thought I was well prepared by buying the most expensive grooming tools (Chris Christensen). But as her coat got longer and more difficult to manage, my groomer suggested I try out this inexpensive brush, which I think is a steal and excellent value. It has been a game changer and shaved off 15 minutes from daily brushing. You don’t need $100 brushes to maintain your dog, just time and patience. You can get both this brush and a metal comb for like $20 or so combined and it will be enough to maintain your doodle!Hope this was helpful and good luck maintaining your goldendoodle!!

Great brush for thick coats
This brush works great for my English Chocolate Lab. She has a really thick undercoat and this gets way in there to get that hair out. It works way better than a furminator brush on her. The only thing that is hard is getting all the hair out of the brush.

Cute tiny little thing. Perfect for my 14 lb poodles face and paws.

Worth every penny – the best slicker brush I’ve owned
I was on the fence when I ordered it (could there really be that much difference in slicker brushes), but this one is indeed worth every penny of the price. It’s got a really good density of stiff pins with coated tips (that our dog doesn’t seem to mind), and it does an outstanding job of grooming.

Works super well
Works really well for my long haired husky. Gets all the undercoat knots out and doesnât get caught. The bristles donât bend easily, easy to clean. Def recommend if you have a dog or cat with long hair. Other brushes just werenât reaching her undercoat so this is awesome for it.

My dogs love this brush
I didnât have high expectations due to the affordable price, but I saw on Reddit that this brush was good for Shih Tzus. My Shih Tzu needed this! Itâs a GREAT brush! It gets knots out really easily and apparently doesnât hurt the dog because she doesnât try to bite me 𤣠My long haired chihuahua begs me to brush him, too. Would definitely buy again.

This brush is easy to use on my poodle cross. I tend to give him a thorough brush weekly to keep tangles at bay. It makes his hair super poofy and cute and removes any tangles or debris in his coat. You have to be careful not to press too hard as metal bristles are hard and scratchy with no end protection. Have been using weekly for many months now and still going strong. To remove fur I just run comb through.

I have three newfies and a Pyrenees mix. This brush got through all that fur with ease. Usually I have to use three different brushes on the newfies. Not now!! I wish I’d gotten this brush a long time ago!
