Great
I’m using this as a shrimp hospital tank at the moment. It’s big, sturdy, easily hangs in the side of the tank. I love that it has dividers if I need them and it’s a good size to keep my sick shrimp, so I can add a lot of plants to it to help my shrimpy feel safe. I’ve not had to use the rubes that came with it, but it’s great to have if I ever need to have water circulated through it.

Has some flaws, but with work it’s passable
The size of this breeder box is impressive. Unfortunately, the quality and function aren’t quite there yet.Here are my thoughts, and issues with this box.Pros:1. Adjustable size columns are great for turning this into a makeshift filter box (like I currently have right now -since I do not have any fry at the moment).2. The clarity of the box is very nice3. Comes with a lid which is great if you have jumper fish that need to go in here temporarily.Cons:1. The arm that provides water to the box connects to an air hose. No matter how much I played with the increasing /decreasing the air flow – it would make a gargling sound so loud that my spouse thought one of our dogs was vomiting (see video).I fixed this issue by buying a small cat fountain pump and now there’s good (soft) water flow into the box and no gargling sounds.2. No matter how hard I tried, the feet on the bottom of the breeder box that’s supposed to keep the box aligned to the tank, keep twisting and my box will angle back which makes it susceptible to flooding. I ended up hunting around my house for items to place between the box and my tank… I ended up first putting an erasure, and then decided on a large piece of foam to keep the spacing. Granted, it’s a gimmicky look, it’s fixed the problem. Except now I have an awful view problem. (See photo).3. Slat hole sizes: Depending on the size of your fry, small fry can still easily swim through the slats.Summary:With the fixes I’ve made, I really like this box as an addendum filter box for my tank. I’m not sure I’d recommend it as a fry tank, as I feel the slats are too big for some fry (I have nano fish in my tank, so probably not for them). If the quality issues were fixed (gargling water flow and feet that don’t stay put- I would say this is a 5/5 for larger fry).
