Small but very helpful
I purchased the small size of this container for my 20 gallon fish tank to help keep my small female betta in to make sure they get along with the other female bettas. The container is very well made and the suction cups holds very well in the water.
PROS: Clear, great water flow in and out of container, and does what it is supposed to do.
CONS: None

awesome box!!!
works perfect!!!….only thing i hates at first was the separater did kinda float a lil and took it a while to set in place…..but i took my pregnant platy and put her in there overnight….the next day i had 12-15 babies in there….it is a must but….just makes sure u have more than one if u have multiple pregnant fishes….found out the hard way by putting another expecting one in there the lil ones kept going up to the top and she ate half of them….but it is a must buy!!!

Perfect for Breeding and Protecting Fry!
I recently purchased the Pawfly Aquarium Fish Breeding Box (Small size), and I am thrilled with its performance. As someone who breeds fish regularly, having a reliable and well-designed breeding box is essential, and this one has exceeded my expectations. Itâs compact, efficient, and provides the perfect environment for fish to breed and for fry to grow safely.
Pros:
Great Design and Functionality â The Pawfly Breeding Box is well-constructed and features a sleek, clear acrylic design that lets you observe your fish without disturbing them. The box has plenty of ventilation, ensuring good water flow and oxygenation, which is vital for the health of both adult fish and fry. The removable divider is especially useful for separating the mother from the fry after birth, preventing her from eating the babies.
Perfect for Smaller Fish Species â The small size is ideal for most freshwater fish breeds, particularly smaller fish like guppies, bettas, and tetras. It provides enough space for fry to swim comfortably while keeping them safe from more aggressive tank mates. Iâve had great success using it for my guppies and bettas, and it works wonderfully for newborn fry.
Easy to Use â Setting up the breeding box is incredibly simple. It hangs easily inside the main aquarium with the included suction cups, and the divider can be adjusted or removed as needed. The box is lightweight, making it easy to move around, but it’s sturdy enough to stay in place. Cleaning is also a breezeâjust remove the box, rinse it with warm water, and youâre good to go.
Prevents Fry Loss â One of the best features of this breeding box is the small opening at the bottom, which allows fry to pass through to a separate chamber once theyâre born. This helps prevent the adult fish from eating the fry and gives the newborns a better chance to survive. The clear acrylic construction makes it easy to check on the health of both the adults and the fry without disturbing the environment.
Affordable â Compared to many other breeding boxes on the market, this one is affordable and offers excellent value for the price. Itâs a great choice for hobbyists on a budget or anyone looking for an efficient, no-frills breeding box.
Cons:
The small size may not be suitable for larger or more numerous fish species. If you’re breeding fish with large or very active adults, you might need a larger tank or breeding box. However, for most small to medium-sized fish, the small version is perfect.
The suction cups can sometimes be a bit tricky to attach and keep secure, especially if the glass of your tank is heavily textured. However, once positioned correctly, they stay in place well.
Overall: The Pawfly Aquarium Fish Breeding Box Acrylic Hatchery Incubator Tank (Small) is a fantastic choice for any fish breeder, particularly those with small to medium-sized fish. It’s compact, easy to use, and helps protect the fry during their critical early stages of development. Iâve used this box multiple times for breeding and itâs been an invaluable tool for keeping both adult fish and their young safe. Itâs a highly recommended product for both beginner and experienced aquarists!

Good Temporary Fish Holder
I used this to acclimate my female betta into my aquarium without knowing whether she would kill the rest of my fish. It worked well but was definitely a temporary solution and not big enough to hold her permanently. I found that she was a little aggressive while in this breeder box probably because it was too small. She would flare a little and try to swim at fish that were near her box. After about half a week to a week I decided to add her to the rest of the tank. Luckily she got along with the rest of this fish and hasn’t been aggressive. As far as breeder boxes go this seems to be a good value. It has good separators and design choices to protect baby fish. The suction cups attach really well to the glass sides of the aquarium and were even hard to get off at some points.

It’s an “alright” breeder box, but not great
The quality on this on is a little lacking, I had received the inside shelf with a crack in it and the plastic is rather thin. That being said, it does serve it’s purpose, floats well without the suction cups and keeps fish in/out of the enclosure.

Good value and easy install
easy to assemble and install…….but the live shrimp which were to quarantine in it have spent a week going from shipper to carrier…I doubt Amazon will deliver live shrimp.

Hatched corycat eggs in the breeder box
Bought this item since I see eggs in the tank one in a while and would like to give them a chance to hatch. I put a few panda corycat eggs in. Two eggs have hatched. I was concerned that they would be able to squeeze out as the fry are so small, but so far they havenât escaped. I have had a problem where a shrimp got stuck between the glass and the box. But it is working at hatching eggs and keeping fry the fry alive so far.

Side slots too large, allowing fry to escape.
I just added about 50 freshly hatched Albino Cory catfish fry – they all escaped through the sides, quickly becoming fish-food. Make sure to allow fry to grow at least a week before adding them to this.

I ordered the medium and at first I was worried it was too large for a 15 gallon aquarium. I love the customization possibilities with all of the pieces. I put a pregnant guppy in one side as she was being harassed. I moved tiny fry onto other side and the smaller once have gone through the slits into safety. The larger ones from another fish that were swimming are on one side above the wee ones. The suction cups hold it firmly near my power filter outlet to allow some water flow. The top lid has slits. Heavy plastic, great quality.

I love that stuff, so convenient when you have pregnant fish. That’s very cool to look. Love that.
