Better than expected
I initially got this for a small 5 gal hospital tank but had to use it in a 6.7 gal betta tank instead because the filter I had in there died. It works quite well. I cut some of the sponge to make room for carbon and cotton or whatever that white fluffy stuff is. With just one betta and plants the water stays clean with regular water changes. I’m keeping that one in there and will get another for the 5 gal.Adjusting the internal outflow is a little difficult as others have mentioned but for the price it’s a good filter for a small tank. I may try the spray but as also mentioned by others. It can also be a little tricky getting the 2 pieces connected properly after removing for cleaning but I found that to be true with other internal filters as well. This one is actually the easiest of them all.

At first I loved how well it worked & how easy it was to setup. The suction power was alright. Very easy to clean. However, it started to get loud. Extremely loud. I stopped using it.

Cheap but simple
Its simple cheap construction but works well for what i wanted. The aeration tube works nicely.I just used it in a bucket to filter and aerate water before i use it for water change. I did cut out some of the sponge and add carbon. It does struggle to start when it has air in it. Okay for the price

I have both sizes, one being used in a 5g (the one rated for 3-10) and the other in a 10g tank (the one rated 10-20). They’re effective, and the flow rate adjustment does actually work well enough. I would not use these in anything larger than 10g, maybe 15g if it’s the right dimensions, but for smaller tanks where you’re likely going to be keeping a betta, these are perfect. Some competitors just have too much flow rate for this size which will stress your betta out, but these are good.
