Protect Dog’s Paws
We have been using Pawz for our dogs paws for years. We have a 52 lb. beagle/terrier mix and a 12 lb. Pomeranian (both rescues). The boots keep their paws dry, protect them from salt and chemicals and prevent their pads from getting too cold. Without Pawz on their feet, they pick their feet up and look at us for help because their feet are too cold. With Pawz, they can walk through the snow and ice for a very reasonable amount of time (1-3 miles). They should fit snugly around the ankle so they don’t fall off but have “air space” around the foot. The layer of air helps protect against the cold. I think the size chart is a little off, though. This is the first winter for our Pomeranian. So, we ordered him boots according to the specifications and the boots were too small. They fit snugly around the whole foot and he found them uncomfortable. So, we ordered the next larger size and he wears them with no problem. They are reasonably prices so we will just donate the smaller ones to the local shelter. Note that they are just like a strong balloon. So, you need to pull the opening very wide to be able to get them on their feet. Once on the feet, though, they work great. We have tried more traditional dog boots but they always fell off. The dogs don’t know what to think of them at first when they are in the house. But, as soon as they go outside, they forget all about them and enjoy their snowy walks! If they try to pull them off, it may be because they are too small. We recommend them to all our doggie neighbors’ parents!

A Bootie Nightmare
Wow! I am severely unimpressed with the quality of this product. As was asked by someone on Amazon’s Q&A page, yes, indeed, these are basically latex balloon material and nothing more. Some background… I was looking for some foot protection for my Golden Retriever who gets snow and ice stuck between her pads when winter arrives and we are outdoors. She doesn’t seem to need insulation as far as warmth goes, but I always worry about the snow and the potential salts on walkways when we’re out in the community. This seemed like an ideal solution.I was very wrong and should’ve heeded the warnings from some of the reviewers.First, the material is incredibly flimsy, but I was willing to give it a shot. These, however, are not easy to get on a dogs’ paws. Even stretching them (like you would a balloon) before putting them on did nothing. I was not thrilled about having something so tightly fitting around her leg, but I figured I’d give them a chance since they’d only be on for a short time and not used daily.I may have been able to get over the tight fit (I understand why this would be done to keep them in place), but the quality is ridiculous. After having them on for about 10 minutes, the included photos of the “bootie massacre” were the results. It was absolutely an indication that these would not work for us. We didn’t even get one solid use out of them, let alone getting any sort of reuse down the line. All four of the boots had holes and tears and one came off (impossible as that seemed to me at the start) while moving.I also tried another set on my Labrador (who doesn’t suffer with getting snow stuck, but I thought they might just work as protection from salt) and they fell off of her after 30 seconds of walking. Literally just came right off as she was walking – and I’m frankly not sure how it happened because the fit around the securing point was quite snug. She also had holes in hers and, as stated, they were only on her for a few seconds before they came off.Perhaps for very small dogs these might work in VERY delicate use situations (maybe – though I can’t imagine they’d be good for much of anything), but if a dog is of average to large size, I just can’t see these as a viable option at all. Such a shame and a waste of money, but I would hate to see someone else buy these and think they would get multiple uses out of them when one use didn’t even happen.

Cavalier King Charles approved
Our Cavalier was having a hard time on the salt and snow. Her paws would get wet and then she’d walk in salt and snow and it hurt! Pulling her legs up and stopping to lick her paws. We decided to try these boots and she let us put them on with NO complaints and off we went! They are definitely a little big on her (we bought medium-she’s 19lbs) but she doesn’t seem to care! We are good to go on salt and snow and wet streets. We walk 2-3 miles each day and she is fine in these booties.

Great booty with a slight modification
My pup and I live in Colorado. She is a Border Collie with long haired hobbit feet and the snow turns into ice balls between her toes and she canât keep going despite her desire to spend hours in the snow.I could not find any bootie that my pup would keep on – she managed to get out of everything we tried until I found these. They certainly stay on and she walks, runs and plays frisbee like sheâs not bothered by them at all so they are comfortable and very functional. They are difficult to get on and I donât think Iâd be able to if she was a pup that resists paw handling. They are like heavy duty balloons which is why they are comfy for walking but her long hair gets tangled up in them and it hurts yo the point that she wouldnât walk – just lay down and chew at them. To resolve that problem i use a strip of 4 inch self-sticking stretch gauze wrap around her ankle and then pull the booty on so the neck sits on the gauze instead of her hair. It works very well. See picture – she is wearing green gauze with the purple booty.I find these to be pretty durable- she can use the same pair for maybe 5 cold, snowy walks. One pack usually lasts a year. She seems to have a good grip unless on ice but itâs hard for all of us on the ice.Hope this tip helps someone else.

Prodotto consigliatissimo.
