Compact, well-built, and entertaining play-gym
I got the X-large for my pet cockatiel. It was the perfect size in terms of the swing, and rope perch. The wood is solid, the paint is non-toxic, and the parts are sturdy after the glue dries.Pros:- The cockatiel uses the ladder, the swing, and all the perches.- The red bowl at the bottom does not spill over, and the bird its seeds without making a mess outside of the play gym.- Shreddable toys, bells, and other beaded toys were placed by the perches, swing, or floor for the bird’s amusement. (Owners can get creative)Cons:- The ladder did not fit snugly and level at the bottom so a toy had to be hung on one side to level it out.- When the glue did not dry, the pieces did not seem sturdy.- Putting together the whole gym required some twenty minutes.- A larger bird than my cockatiel would have a hard time using the swing or the ladder for the X-large.

Overall I am satisfied
Overall I am satisfied. It is not very sturdy as some mentioned, but at the $7 price I paid for it, I’m ok with that, besides my kakariki Dale is not rough and it’s not like he weighs a ton, it is sturdy ENOUGH for him. Using your own wood glue may be ideal, I’d suggest the gorilla glue brand, it would make a difference in the overall sturdiness of the structure, especially if you have a bird that will actually be chewing and playing on it. I will note the bell that came with mine is not copper. It’s a really neat and interesting new toy for your bird to explore, I have attached photos so consider the size of your bird compared to the size I bought (Large), my kakariki is about the same size as a cockatiel maybe just a tad smaller.

lots of stuff for little price, but needs diy solving to make it better
Incredibly easy to put together but note it takes time for glue to dry. It is cheaply made with just glue holding most of it together and SMALL, don’t know why they say large, so it should only be used for small birds like it says. Will have to buy your own glue because their bottle was so hard to squeeze I couldn’t get any glue out. The bottom ‘orange’ dowel didn’t fit all the way across and wasn’t thick enough so had to use lots of glue to make sure it stayed in; per their TIP put a heavy object on one end to make sure it stayed down while glue was drying. Don’t know why they don’t make the dowel thicker, longer and the slots deeper so that it stays in better. Didn’t level out the bottom so it wobbles. I solved this by gluing non-slip shelf liner to it. Wish I could say my bird likes it but she hasn’t yet tried to play with it-she’s still young so hopefully she will. It is cheap priced, but since I had to go out and buy more stuff to make it work I feel like I should get some money back(maybe that’s why it was discounted 🙂 No way would I even consider paying $43.+ as it’s originally listed. I still recommend it for parakeets, not sure about cockatiels, compared to other similar playgrounds if your bird loves to play with this type of stuff outside of the cage.

Not great, but it was cheap so I gave it a try
When I decided to bring home a Green Cheek Conure, I wanted some sort of play stand for outside of his cage. But, I had a hard time deciding what I wanted and saw this one for around $7. I figured it was better than nothing and bought it. It is tiny. I mean, even a budgie would look a bit big on this little thing. It was a bit difficult to assemble and definitely is not very sturdy. It comes with some glue and clear directions, but the glue is not great and I had to re-glue pieces twice just to get them to somewhat stay in place. Due to the small size, the various pieces are kind of cramped together, so cleaning the bottom is a bit of a challenge. It’s also all smooth dowel pieces and some birds can have issues gripping and easily moving around. Adding some vet wrap can help the grip issues. While it’s not the worst thing ever, it’s definitely not something I would recommend or purchase again.

Too Big for In the Cage, Perfect for Out of It (Updated)
I had hoped I could put this in my bird’s cage, and he could use it both in and out of the cage. But it’s really too big (got the x-large size) to put in the cage. That’s okay–he’ll use it when he’s out. We’ll likely put it in the bathroom and let him use it for shower time. I have a pineapple conure, and the x-large size is really perfect for him. I think the x-large would work for conures, ringnecks, caiques, quakers, and other similarly sized birds. It might be a bit too big for cockateils and it’s way too big for budgies and parrotlets. It was super easy to put together, fits securely, comes with the glue and everything you need to assemble.Conner the Conure was terrified of it at first, flew off every time we’d sit him on it, but soon, he ventured a peck here and a waddle-waddle there, and now he’ll even sit o the swing. I think he’ll love it in no time. The swing and ladders move and hang from little hooks, so you can switch them out, change their sides, etc. Bright, colorful, easy to assemble, sturdy when put together right. I think all in all, it was a good purchase and at a decent price.Update: The colors tend to run when they are cleaned with water, so you want to mostly dry wipe to clean this play toy. It’s not enough of a concern/problem that it warrants a downrating in stars though, because Conner the Conure absolutely loves his toy now. Whenever he is out and we’re in the kitchen area, we put him on his play toy on the counter and he can be with us. I like it and the little red cup/dish it comes with–while we’re cooking, I’ll slice some veggies and put them in his little cup. He likes the rope perch and he’ll slide the shiny plastic wavy rings. If I had one negative, it would be that the colors run if you use water to clean it. One other slight negative is that the swing and ladder don’t like to stay ‘hooked’ and sometimes will fall off when moving the play gym. They are strong and secure when the toy is still, so it’s not a danger to the bird or anything but I knocking the swing off and having to put it back on when I move it. This was definitely worth the price for a play area for a small to medium-sized bird when he’s out of his cage.

And it comes with glue, and still itâs falling apart. Threw it in the trash immediately, bird products shouldnât use glue.

For the price it’s amazing! My only concerns are that the perch that holds the swing and ladder are not sturdy! I glued them in place and now it’s fine! Also that piece of wood on the bottom moves a little. For $20 it’s amazing! My Bird loves it ð

Arrived quickly and was easy to set up. This is a picture of two young budgies we have only had for a week on their second outing from their cage – they took straight to it which was great to see.Iâd recommend this product!
